A new classification system for fibular hemimelia is proposed based on the authors' experience with 32 patients with 33 involved limbs representing a spectrum of involvement. The data demonstrate the broad and unpredictable relationships among the fibula, ankle, and foot in this disorder. We studied the nearest neighbour classification of patient cases with benign positional vertigo, Meniere's disease, sudden deafness, traumatic vertigo, vestibular neuritis, and vestibular schwannoma. According to the worldwide-accepted classification of the neurofibromatoses only neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1) and neurofibromatosis type 2 (NF2) are well defined. Thyroid nodule genesis may be considered as an amplification of thyroid heterogeneity due to genetic and/or epigenetic mechanisms. We classified the thyroid nodules in five types with distinct histological features: hyperplastic, neoplastic, colloid, cystic and thyroiditic nodules. Hyperplastic: Thyrocyte proliferation is under the control of TSH but several other paracrine and autocrine factors are secreted by follicular cells, the stromal apparatus and the lymphocytes, which are implicated in initiation and perpetuation of thyroid hyperplasia. Growth occurs mainly through TSHR, cAMP and PKA.

Möbius syndrome is characterized by facial abnormalities, but the limbs, chest wall, spine, and soft tissues also can be involved. Diagnosis of diaphragmatic rupture is often missed after blunt thoracic and abdominal injuries. Rupture of the diaphragm is caused either by direct or indirect violence.
