Symptomatic neonatal Meckel's diverticulum is rare. We describe 2 interesting presentations of neonatal Meckel's diverticulum with review of the literature. Our first patient presented with massive bleeding per rectum in the first week of life, which is the only case reported so far. The second case presented with milk curd obstruction in the Meckel's diverticulum. We could find only one similar case in the literature.

Meckel's diverticulum, an omphalomesenteric remnant caused by the failure of the vitelline duct to involute by the seventh or eight week of gestation, was first described in 1809 by Johann Friederick Meckel. It is the most common congenital abnormality of the small intestine. It is usually located in the last 90 cm of the terminal ileum and is formed by all layers of the small intestine. The Authors report on a case of a 69 years old woman with an acute peritonitis secondary to a perforated jejunal diverticulum, treated by laparotomy and intestinal resection with end-to-end anastomosis in one layer. The patient was dismissed after seven days, in good general conditions. Jejunal diverticula occur in around 1% of general population. Squamous cell carcinoma in a Zenker diverticulum is a very rare condition. We report a case of a patient with a Zenker carcinoma, who was primarily functionally inoperable and therefore received neoadjuvant radiochemotherapy before cardiac bypass surgery. The pharyngoesophageal diverticulum in the lower part of the neck can be detected using neck ultrasonography. We present a case of pharyngoesophageal diverticulum mimicking a thyroid nodule, which was found incidentally by ultrasonography, and discuss its peculiar findings, which might be useful to diagnose pharyngoesophageal diverticulum and to prevent invasive procedures such as needle aspiration biopsy.

Perforation of Meckel's diverticulum in children is a rare and serious complication. The authors report a case of a 3-year-old boy with perforation and hemoperitoneum caused by Meckel's diverticulum. Difficulty of preoperative diagnosis is discussed, indication for incidental diverticulotomy is established, and the literature is reviewed.

A case of giant true diverticulum of the sigmoid colon, manifesting as pain and abdominal mass is presented. The patient is asymptomatic after resection of the diverticulum and end-to-end anastomosis of the colon.

The previous reports concerning the computed tomographic (CT) appearances of small bowel diverticulum are usually limited to those of diverticulitis. We present the CT findings of uncomplicated, large small bowel diverticulum in five patients. An interesting coexistence of large small bowel diverticulum and small bowel volvulus will be mentioned. Four patients had recurrent abdominal pain in the past 2 years.
