PURPOSE: This randomized clinical trial aimed to evaluate and compare the desensitizing efficacy of Gluma, Er,Cr:YSGG laser irradiation, and their combined application in Stage III/IV periodontitis patients presenting dentin hypersensitivity (DH) following non-surgical periodontal therapy (NSPT).

We report D-2-hydroxyglutaric aciduria in a neonate with intracranial haemorrhage and absence of the corpus callosum. D-2-hydroxyglutaric acid was confirmed by specific chiral derivatization gas chromatography-mass spectrometry. Absence of the corpus callosum and spontaneous neonatal intracranial haemorrhage should raise the suspicion for metabolic disease, and especially organic acidurias.

The study presents novel hydrogels obtained by crosslinking chitosan with both furfural and glutaraldehyde via dynamic imine bonds. Scanning electron microscopy confirmed the formation of porous networks with a mean diameter of the pores between 15 and 35 μm, while the supramolecular characterization by polarized optical microscopy and wide-angle X-ray diffraction proved the gelation mechanism.
