Thiol esters and organoindium reagents undergo palladium-catalyzed cross-coupling under mild conditions to give ketones in moderate to excellent yields. Aryl and primary/secondary alkyl organoindium reagents can be used as coupling partners. This method has two advantages over the cross-coupling of thiol esters with boron and tin reagents: (1) no added copper reagent is required to mediate the reaction and (2) for the case of alkyl transfer, no added base is required to activate organoindium reagents for cross-coupling as is required for the coupling of alkyl boron reagents with thiol esters.

This report describes the synthesis and characterization of two (111)In-labeled DTPA-peptide conjugates (DTPA-MA and DTPA-BA). A technique is presented for the bedside performance of radionuclide cisternography in the preterm neonate. Using a portable gamma camera, with a low energy, converging collimator, high quality diagnostic images were obtained in 31 infants, following the lumbar subarachnoid injection of 100 micro Ci In-111 DTPA. The technique is safe, and provides valuable information about CSF dynamics unavailable by any other method.

Monoclinic bismuth vanadate (BiVO4) thin film was fabricated on indium-tin oxide glass from an amorphous heteronuclear complex via dip-coating. A patient with chronic idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP), chronic disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC) and abdominal aortic aneurysm is described. He had severe thrombocytopenia and his platelet life span was shortened (29 h).
