OBJECTIVE: To investigate the pathological change of mice organ intoxicated by Alangium Chinese and its poisoning mechanism.
METHODS: Mice were intoxicated by gavage with extract of Alangium Chinese. Then the histopathologic examination was made for evaluating the pathological changes in the organs of the poisoned mice by HE staining.
RESULTS: The main pathological changes included alveolar hemorrhage, pulmonary interstitial hemorrhage, sinus hepaticus expansion and congestion, hepatocyte edema, subarachnoid hemorrhage, congestion and hemorrhage of other organs.

METHODS: Thirty-eight cases (fifty-four affected eyes) of optic atrophy were treated with acupuncture, local points combined with points selected acording to syndrome differentiation were used, Jingming (BL 1), Cuanzhu (BL 2), and Fengchi (GB 20) were selected as main points, the therapeutic effects were evaluated after 2 courses of treatment, and variation of the indexes in patients such as vision, visual field and visual evoked potential were observed before and after treatment.

We report a case in which convergence movement was substituted for bilateral horizontal gaze palsy due to a pontine tegmental hemorrhage. When visual fixation was suppressed with Frenzel goggles (FG), substituted convergence movements were prominent in our patient. OBJECTIVE: To observe early rehabilitation of two different acupuncture programs for hemiplegia due to stroke.
METHODS: Seventy cases of early hemiplegia due to stroke were randomly divided into a treatment group and a control group. The treatment group were treated by acupuncture at acupoints of both the healthy and affected sides, twice each day, respectively, and the control group by acupuncture at the affected side, once daily.
