Periosteal Ewing sarcoma (ES) is an exceedingly rare topographic subtype of the ES. To our knowledge, only 60 patients have been reported in the medical English language literature. It predominantly affects men in the second decade of life and arises in the long tubular bone diaphysis. Periosteal ES rarely develops distant metastases. We present a rare concurrence of enchondroma and periosteal chondroma in the right distal fibula that mimicked chondrosarcoma in a 13-year-old boy. Radiographs and CT scans showed a periosteal lesion producing saucerization without periosteal reaction and calcification in the distal metaphysis of the right fibula. Radiation-induced necrosis or infection can result in a persistent nonunion of the clavicle. We describe 3 cases in which a free vascularized corticoperiosteal flap was harvested from the medial aspect of the femoral condyle and transferred to the fractured clavicle by use of microvascular anastomoses. OBJECTIVE: To provide experimental data of different oral mucosa suitable to repair denudated palate.
METHODS: Thirty Japanese white rabbits (5 weeks old) were divided into three groups: I group (left hard palate was denudated with right side intact), II group and III group (both sides of the hard palate were denudated with right side repaired by palatal mucosa or buccal mucosa correspondingly). Augmentation rhinoplasty using a silicone implant is the most popular operation in Japan, but is not without several complications such as exposure of the implant and its deviation. We obtained good results in preventing these complications by a fixation at the hollow which is made by chiseling the frontal bone and by fibrous tissue which grows through the small holes of the implant tail.

Various mucoperiosteal flaps from the nose (nasal walls) are in use today in frontal sinus surgery in cases where a wide opening between the frontal sinus and the nasal cavity is created. These flaps are transferred to cover denuded bone in the area of opening and thus prevent the opening from narrowing or closing, which would result in the reappearance of frontal sinus problems. In this paper, a new mucoperiosteal flap taken from the upper extension of middle turbinate is described.

At the age of 2 months, the mid-palatal suture, with adjacent bone and nasal mucoperiosteum, was resected in 20 domestic cats leaving postoperatively only the oral side of the more than 5 mm wide osseous defect covered with mucoperiosteum. After cessation of general growth this single layered "palatal cleft periosteoplasty" had, an all animals, resulted in the formation of new bone extending from the resection edges, i.e. nearly butting in the midline in about 85% of the cases.
