We report a case that demonstrates a difference in wound healing after laser in situ keratomileusis using microkeratomes with both superior and nasal hinges in a patient with bilateral superior corneal vascularization. Subsequently, the patient experienced lamellar keratitis, epithelial defects, and peripheral thinning in both eyes. These postoperative conditions were more extensive and required more time to resolve in the eye with a nasal hinge flap. PURPOSE: The aim of this study was to determine the interocular differences of the Pentacam corneal measurements in a normal population.
METHODS: A retrospective analysis was performed on 550 eyes of 275 consecutive subjects evaluated for refractive surgery at the Rassoul Akram Hospital, Iran University of Medical Sciences. AIMS: To describe the optics of in vivo confocal microscopy, its advantages over previous methods, and to summarise the literature that arose from its use for the observation of the human cornea.
