PURPOSES: To evaluate the effect of phacoemulsification in the patients with uveitis, secondary glaucoma and complicated cataract.
METHODS: Phacoemulsification and implantation of a foldable intraoucular len was performed in 12 patients(13 eyes) with uveitis, secondary glaucoma and complicated cataract. The complications, intraocular pressures (IOP), and visual acuity were observed postoperatively.

PURPOSE: To report a rare case of true exfoliation of the lens capsule following panuveitis, with slit-lamp photographs before and following the development of the true exfoliation.
METHODS: Case report. Review of the history and clinical features of a 70-year-old woman who developed true exfoliation during the treatment for panuveitis.
RESULTS: After 7 months of treatment for bilateral panuveitis with topical steroid and tropicamide, the patient developed a thin, transparent membrane arising on the lens surface in the right eye. A diagnosis of true exfoliation of the lens capsule was made.

A retrospective study was undertaken analysing the results of trabeculectomy without antimetabolites in 33 eyes with uveitis compared to 33 eyes with primary open angle glaucoma (POAG). Both groups were matched for surgeon with a median follow-up of 19 months (range 2-44 months) for the uveitis group and 24 months (range 6-92 months) for the POAG group.
