Adrenal gland trauma is a rare and scarcely reported injury due to its retroperitoneal position and relationship with adjacent tissues. We report a male patient with a history of a thoracoabdominal blunt trauma with adrenal injury as an isolated abdominal viscera. He was hemodynamically stable at admission, with a blush within his adrenal hematoma. The patient was treated nonoperatively and subsequently discharged after 15 days. Intussusception of the gastrointestinal viscera is rarely encountered in adult patients and is frequently associated with a polypoidal lead point, which is often malignant. Abdominal wall defects range from the mild umbilical cord hernia to the highly complex limb-body wall syndrome. The most common defects are gastroschisis and omphalocele, and the rarer ones include the exstrophy complex, pentalogy of Cantrell and limb-body wall syndrome. Blunt abdominal trauma can cause multiple internal injuries. However, these injuries are often difficult to accurately evaluate, particularly in the presence of more obvious external injuries. Congenital diaphragmatic hernia (CDH) is associated with high mortality and morbidity due to pulmonary hypoplasia (PH) and persistent pulmonary hypertension (PPH). Calciphylaxis is a very uncommon and severe disease which mainly appears in patients with chronic renal insufficiency. Seventy eight patients with varying malignancy non-Hodgkin's lymphomas were examined. Signs of extranodal damage of the spleen and liver were studied. Spleno- and hepatomegaly were signs of the commonest diffuse visceral involvements. Ultrasonic luminescence of blood plasma was studied in 428 cases of cancer, precancer and non-tumor diseases of the stomach and other viscera. The clinical manifestations are unpredictable and of infinite variety, and especially in massively traumatized patient masked by other injuries. In 1975, a new Silastic device was developed by the authors to be used in the staged reduction of viscera in newborns with giant gastroschisis or omphalocele. That device and their early experience were described in 1977. This article reports the results of use of this device over the past 10 years.
