Elevator fault precursor prediction based on improved LSTM-AE algorithm and TSO-VMD denoising technique.

This study proposes an advanced elevator fault precursor prediction method integrating Variational Mode Decomposition (VMD), Bidirectional Long Short-Term Memory (BILSTM), and an Autoencoder with an Attention Mechanism (AEAM), collectively referred to as the VMD-BILSTM-AEAM algorithm. This model addresses the challenges of feature redundancy and noise interference in elevator operation data, improving the stability and accuracy of fault predictions. Using a dataset of elevator operation parameters, including current, voltage, and running speed, the model utilizes the Attribute Correlation Dens

PT-BitNet: Scaling up the 1-Bit large language model with post-training quantization.

The deployment of Large Language Models (LLMs) has been constrained by their substantial hardware requirements and associated costs. Quantization techniques have emerged as a promising solution to address these challenges. Recently, BitNet [Wang et al., 2023] proposed to use ternary values (+1, 0, -1) for weight quantization showing particular promise in eliminating multiplication operations, further significantly reducing the latency and energy consumption. However, BitNet's requirement for training models from scratch limits its scalability to models larger than 3 billion parameters. This pa

Sequential Endoscopic-image 3D Reconstruction using Structured-light and Neural Signed Distance Field with Photometric Loss.

The 3D shape measurement of internal organs is crucial for both diagnosis and surgery using endoscopy and colonoscopy. While various attempts have been made to develop 3D endoscopic systems, active one-shot scanning methods are particularly advantageous as they integrate seamlessly with existing systems. However, these methods suffer from issues such as noise and reduced accuracy due to unstable pattern detection. To address these challenges, we propose an approach based on neural signed distance field (neural SDF), incorporating a pattern reflection model. Our method, while utilizing structur

Research on Deep Learning-Based Human-Robot Static/Dynamic Gesture-Driven Control Framework.

For human-robot gesture-driven control, this paper proposes a deep learning-based approach that employs both static and dynamic gestures to drive and control robots for object-grasping and delivery tasks. The method utilizes two-dimensional Convolutional Neural Networks (2D-CNNs) for static gesture recognition and a hybrid architecture combining three-dimensional Convolutional Neural Networks (3D-CNNs) and Long Short-Term Memory networks (3D-CNN+LSTM) for dynamic gesture recognition. Results on a custom gesture dataset demonstrate validation accuracies of 95.38% for static gestures and 93.18%

Rethinking softmax in incremental learning.

Mitigating catastrophic forgetting remains a fundamental challenge in incremental learning. This paper identifies a key limitation of the widely used softmax cross-entropy loss: the non-identifiability inherent in the standard softmax cross-entropy distillation loss. To address this issue, we propose two complementary strategies: (1) adopting an imbalance-invariant distillation loss to mitigate the adverse effect of imbalanced weights during distillation, and (2) regularizing the original prediction/distillation loss with shift-sensitive alternatives, which render the optimization problem iden

Detection of Breath Nitric Oxide at Ppb Level Based on Multiperiodic Spectral Reconstruction Neural Network.

As breath nitric oxide (NO) is a biomarker of respiratory inflammation, reliable techniques for the online detection of ppb-level NO in exhaled breath are essential for the noninvasive diagnosis of respiratory inflammation. Here, we report a breath NO sensor based on the multiperiodic spectral reconstruction neural network. First, a spectral reconstruction method that transforms a spectrum from the wavelength domain to the intensity domain is proposed to remove noise and interference signals from the spectrum. Different from the traditional spectral processing method based on the wavelength do

Neural Network-Enhanced FMCW Gas Spectroscopy.

Detecting multicomponent gases over extensive concentration ranges with laser spectroscopy faces challenges of complex configurations, intricate spectral analysis, and reduced accuracy. Neural networks offer transformative potential for advancing laser spectroscopy by facilitating real-time optimization and automation of experimental processes. Here, we report a frequency-modulated continuous-wave (FMCW) spectroscopic system enhanced by a feedforward neural network (FNN) algorithm. FMCW encodes gas absorption spectra into optical signals, enabling both spatial localization and spectroscopic an

GDT-Net: Multi-level feature extraction network for precise diagnosis of atrial and ventricular fibrillation.

Atrial fibrillation (AFIB) and ventricular fibrillation (VFIB) are two critical cardiovascular diseases, where accurate diagnosis is essential for timely intervention. Although deep learning technology has greatly improved the diagnostic accuracy of AFIB and VFIB, its performance degrades significantly under compound noise conditions. To address this challenge, we propose GDT-Net, a neural network specifically designed for robust ECG classification under compound noise conditions. GDT-Net comprises three key modules: the G Module, D Module, and T Module, each contributing to a comprehensive an

Deep learning-based CNN model for multiclass classification of fingerprint patterns.

Fingerprints are widely used as biometric parameters for identification purposes because of their uniqueness. Moreover, many digital devices have employed fingerprints for security purposes throughout the world. An automatic artificial intelligence-based classification system can reduce the time spent running through the database for fingerprint matching by arranging fingerprints into disjoint classes. It can also help classify fingerprints at the crime scene easily and quickly. The present study proposed a convolutional neural network (CNN) model for the multiclass classification of fingerpri

Break Adhesion: Triple adaptive-parsing for weakly supervised instance segmentation.

Weakly supervised instance segmentation (WSIS) aims to identify individual instances from weakly supervised semantic segmentation precisely. Existing WSIS techniques primarily employ a unified, fixed threshold to identify all peaks in semantic maps. It may lead to potential missed or false detections due to the same category but with diverse visual characteristics. Moreover, previous methods apply a fixed augmentation strategy to broadly propagate peak cues to contributing regions, resulting in instance adhesion. To eliminate these manually fixed parsing patterns, we propose a triple adaptive-

The Black Hole Strategy: Gravity-Based Representative Sampling for Frugal Graph Learning on Metal-Organic Framework Networks.

The expansion of large-scale materials databases has facilitated the development of graph-based representations, encoding structural and functional similarities as edges in data-driven networks. These enable machine learning models to leverage both local features and global relationships. However, densely connected datasets often introduce redundancy and noise, escalating computational complexity without improving performance. Here, we introduce the Black Hole Strategy, a gravity-based representative sampling method that constructs compact, informative subsets from large materials datasets whi

GraphGuard: An adaptive approach for restoring accuracy in backdoor-compromised GNNs.

Backdoor attacks present a significant threat to the reliability of machine learning models, including Graph Neural Networks (GNNs), by embedding triggers that manipulate model behavior. While many existing defenses focus on identifying these vulnerabilities, few address restoring model accuracy after an attack. This paper introduces a method for restoring the original accuracy of GNNs affected by backdoor attacks, a task complicated by the complex structure of graph data. Our approach combines advanced filtering and augmentation techniques that enhance the GNN's resilience against hidden trig

FA-GCL: Feature-augmented graph contrastive learning method.

Graph contrastive learning seeks to improve the efficacy of graph representation learning by comparing various graph representations. Existing approaches predominantly rely on node attributes or structural information for contrastive analysis. However, in real-world applications, node attribute information can be incomplete or entirely absent, while structure-enhancement methods often generate false positive samples. To mitigate these issues, we propose a feature augmentation-based graph contrastive learning method (FA-GCL) that enhances the accuracy and robustness of graph representations. Sp

Optimized deep learning for Indian Classical Dance Classification a novel application based on a refined version of chameleon swarm algorithm.

Indian Classical Dance (ICD) is a cultural art form much older than history, where the body movements convey emotions, spiritual meanings, or narrative meanings. Automated classification of ICD styles from visual data presents great challenges because of subtle inter-class variations, intra-class variations, and the complexity of human pose representation. Deep learning models have been applied to this kind of work, but the performance is usually limited due to suboptimal parameter tuning. Therefore, this work introduces a new approach to optimize Deep Belief Network (DBN) for accurate classif
