Spontaneous intramural duodenal haematoma (IDH) is an uncommon pathology and it is usually related to anticoagulant therapy. Other causes include various pancreatic diseases, connective tissue disease, peptic ulcer disease and pancreaticoduodenal aneurysm. IDH of pancreatic origin has been infrequently reported. Duodenal variceal bleeding is a rare but potentially life-threatening complication of portal hypertension. Endoscopic therapy is usually the initial treatment option for bleeding duodenal varices, but it is not always feasible or successful. We report the case of a male neonate who had a prenatal diagnosis of Fallot's tetralogy. He presented with respiratory distress during the second week of life.
