BACKGROUND/AIMS: To investigate the characteristics of fundus autofluorescence (FAF) in acute Vogt-Koyanagi-Harada (VKH) disease.
METHODS: FAF photography with blue light (BL-FAF) and near-infrared light (NIR-FAF) was performed on 10 eyes of five patients using a confocal scanning laser ophthalmoscope before and after treatment. A 59-year-old male patient presented with clinical characteristics of a melanocytoma of the optic disc in the right eye. Using functional tests, such as visual acuity, visual fields, visual evoked potentials (VEP) and imaging procedures (e.g., fundus photography and spectral domain optical coherence tomography) the findings were documented. Best corrected visual acuity was 25/20 in both eyes. Ophthalmoscopy showed a slightly prominent and pigmented tumor in the upper third of the optic disc. Comparing both eyes, an enlarged blind spot and a reduction of VEP were detectable.

PURPOSE: To describe the previously unreported ocular anomalies in the rare condition of tetraploidy.
METHODS: This study is a retrospective case report of a 23-day-old male infant with tetraploidy. RetCam fundus photography and neuroimaging were performed.

PURPOSE: To examine the effect of topical doxycycline on human corneal neovascularization (CONV).
MATERIALS AND METHODS: Six eyes of six patients with CONV received topical 1% doxycycline four times per day for three weeks and monitored for a total of one year. Ophthalmic evaluations included visual acuity, tonometry, slit-lamp examination, conjunctival swabs, quantification of CONV and photography.
RESULTS: CONV either disappeared or was attenuated, shortened and less dense in five of six patients. There were no adverse effects.

PURPOSE: To report macular ischemia as a cause of decreased vision in a patient with acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS).
METHODS: A 50-year-old man with AIDS who had previously diagnosed human immunodeficiency virus retinopathy and peripheral cytomegalovirus retinitis was initially examined with decreased vision in both eyes.
