A 72-year-old woman underwent sigmoid colon resection plus D2 lymph node dissection in 2008, with additional resection after endoscopic mucosal resection(EMR). Histopathological examination revealed only atypical ducts in the EMR scar, with no invasion below the submucosa. BACKGROUND: Metastasis to penis usually arises from genitourinary organs, but in rare cases, metastasis comes from the sigmoid colon. Furthermore, very few cases of penile metastasis of primary sigmoid colon carcinoma have been reported.
CASE PRESENTATION: We described a case of a 53-year-old man with penile metastasis of sigmoid colon carcinoma along with a review of the literature. In an endoscopic population screening examination for detection of colorectal polyps among 324 men and women aged 50-59 years, adenomas greater than or equal to 5 mm in diameter were found in 38 individuals, and 212 were polyp-free. The design of a population screening study, including endoscopic screening for polyps in the rectum and sigmoid colon, was tested in a defined population sample of 200 women and 200 men aged 50-59 years. The attendance rate was 81%. A simple bowel cleansing procedure performed immediately before the examination gave satisfactory conditions for endoscopic examination in 94% of attendants. Polyp prevalence was 35%. The present material and results represent the basis for further follow-up studies of risk factors for the development of cancer in the same group of individuals.

Percutaneous stenting of the severely strictured ureter is facilitated by catheterization through a rigid curved tube leading through the kidney. Alternatively, bidirectional traction tensioning of a guide wire pulled through the entire urinary tract permits antegrade dilatation and stent drainage. Complete occlusion near the ureteric orifice may be bypassed by transureteral puncture of the bladder followed by stent insertion.

A granular cell myoblastoma of the upper sigmoid colon is reported in a 53-year-old male. The tumor was detected during investigation of abdominal pain and was removed by colonoscopic polypectomy. Colonoscopy provides a new method of treatment for these unusual colonic lesions and avoids the need for surgery. To our knowledge the tumor has not been reported previously in the sigmoid colon.
