BACKGROUND: Floppy eyelid syndrome may be the underlining cause of papillary keratoconjunctivitis. Patients initially report a nonspecific irritation, redness, or a foreign body sensation.
METHODS: As a result of its vague presentation, floppy eyelid syndrome is frequently misdiagnosed. A careful slit-lamp evaluation and a complete history aids in the diagnosis.

A retrospective review of 398 eyes of 199 patients with keratoconus revealed 106 eyes of 53 patients with an association between contact lens wear and the development of keratoconus. We report 26 cases of eye injuries resulting from cobra venom sprayed by Naja atra. This accounts for 14.5% of patients (26/173) treated for cobra injuries who presented to the emergency department of a snakebite treatment center in Guangzhou, South China.
