The reaction of NO and H2S to form HNO is a classical pathway in physiological conditions. The reported single recognition-type fluorescent probes are difficult to track precisely the relationships of H2S and HNO. It is necessary to develop a bifunctional fluorescence probe (NJA) for monitoring simultaneously the production of endogenous HNO and H2S. We report the synthesis and characterization of two photoactive metal-organic frameworks (MOFs), TCM-14 and TCM-15. The compounds were synthesized by incorporating 4,4'-azopyridine auxiliary ligands into pto-type scaffolds that are composed of dinuclear copper(II) "paddle-wheel"-based secondary building units and flexible, acetylene-extended, tritopic benzoate linkers. In the title centrosymmetric binuclear Cd(II) compound, [Cd(2)(C(7)H(5)O(3))(4)(C(6)H(6)N(2)O)(2)]·4H(2)O, the six-coordinated Cd(II) atom is chelated by the carboxyl-ate groups of the two 3-hy-droxy-benzoate (HB) anions; the two monomeric units are bridged through the two O atoms of the two carboxyl-ate groups. In the crystal, O-H⋯O, N-H⋯O and C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds link the mol-ecules into a three-dimensional network. π-π Contacts between the pyridine rings and between the benzene rings [centroid-centroid distances = 3.770 (1), 3.769 (1) and 3.632 (1) Å] may further stabilize the structure.

The title compound, [Mo(2)(C(15)H(15)N(2)O(2))(3)(C(7)H(5)O(2))]·CH(2)Cl(2), has a quadruply bonded Mo(2) (4+) unit equatorially coordinated by three N,N'-bis-(4-μ-meth-oxy-phen-yl)formamidinate (DAniF) ligands and one benzoate anion. The Mo-Mo bond length of 2.0881 (8) Å is typical for quadruply bonded species. The phenyl ring and the connected dimetal chelating ring (Mo(2)O(2)C) are nearly co-planar, making a dihedral angle of 3.24 (13)°. Six medical students inhabiting a centuries-old, rat-infested house in Lübeck, in northern Germany, were suffering from itching papules and seropapules. Manipulations of the alpha noradrenergic (NE) system affect both lordosis and the concentration of hypothalamic steroid receptors. The present studies explored whether NE affects lordosis in guinea pigs via changes in hypothalamic estrogen or progestin receptors or through some other mechanism. Nifedipine (1), a drug practically insoluble in water, has been solubilized employing sodium benzoate (2) and sodium salicylate (3) as hydrotropes. In 30% w/v 2 solution the solubility of 1 increased 85 and 76 fold at 25 +/- 1 degree C and at 37 +/- 1 degree C respectively.
