Total body opacification in infants following the intravenous injection of a large dose of water soluble contrast medium has long been recognised, but no example of increased radiodensity of abdominal or intracranial tumours has been reported using this technique. Two false-negative results from 32P testing for histologically verified malignant melanomas of the choroid are reported. In the first case, a haemorrhagic choroidal detachment caused an increase in probe; additionally, the tumour was necrotic. Both factors are likely to have contributed to the false-negative result. BACKGROUND: Intraocular metastases from cutaneous melanoma are rare. Diagnosis can be challenging and there is currently no consensus on treatment. However, with the increasing incidence of this cancer and improved survival of patients treated with targeted BRAF-MEK inhibitors and checkpoint inhibitors, it is likely that more cases will be referred to ocular oncology clinics.

Typing a tumor of the lateral ventricle is often an issue, even for an experienced Neuropathologist. In this location are encountered specific entities, such as neurocytoma and subependymal giant cell astrocytoma, as well as more usual tumors, displaying a common misleading morphology, for instance a main clear cell component. The panel of diagnostic tools given to the pathologists has been increasing for a few years, enriched by immunohistochemical and molecular probes.

This report is an adult case of malignant choroid plexus papilloma revealed in the lateral ventricle and in the cerebellopontine (CP) angle simultaneously. A 37-year-old man was admitted to the hospital complaining of headache, nausea, and a floating sensation on August 29, 1984. A case report and literature review of a unique presentation of metastatic breast cancer is provided. A 46-year-old patient with a history of breast carcinoma presented with a choroidal mass. Three days later she went on to develop bilateral simultaneous orbital cellulitis, investigation of which revealed underlying bony metastases from a breast primary. In order to diagnose underlying neoplasia, full history and examination is necessary when assessing patients with orbital inflammation.
