Spontaneous coronary artery dissection remains an exceedingly rare cause of myocardial ischemia. The patients are usually young and female, and the dissection is frequently fatal. The use of polytetrafluoroethylene as an aortocoronary conduit is generally followed by early occlusion. We report a case of spontaneous right coronary dissection in which a polytetrafluoroethylene graft was placed that was observed to remain patent by angiography at least 72 months after operation.

A successful surgical case of ruptured thoracoabdominal aortic aneurysm of Crawford type III was reported. The patient was a 40-year-old male suffering from cystic kidney, hypertension and dissecting aortic aneurysm. The operative procedure was implantation of a large Dacron graft between the ascending aorta and the common iliac arteries, with branches of small Dacron grafts anastomosed to the left common carotid, left subclavian, celiac, superior mesenteric and renal arteries, and exclusion of the aorta.

A case of iatrogenic dissecting aneurysm in the cubital region causing secondary damage to the median nerve is reported. This aneurysm was caused by an attempted venipuncture, in what can be considered a minor procedure. BACKGROUND: Laparoscopic pancreaticoduodenectomy (PD) is challenging, and the performance of successful laparoscopic PD has been limited. The dissection of the pancreatic head from the right aspect of the portal vein and the superior mesenteric artery is one of the most difficult procedures in laparoscopic PD.
METHODS: For the safe dissection of the pancreatic head during laparoscopic PD, we developed a novel "pancreas-hanging maneuver" technique. Nine patients underwent this new surgical procedure between December 2008 and June 2009 during the course of laparoscopic pylorus-preserving PD.

A review of carotid body tumors is presented together with a personal series of 16 patients managed in 4 years. Angiography was diagnostic in all instances. Five patients showed evidence of local invasion, while no patient had distant spread. Early recognition and surgical management were effective in the treatment of all operable tumors. Local removal of group 1 tumors without shunting is safe, with no morbidity or mortality in this series.
