Trocar site hernias are a type of incisional hernias and may occur within a variable time shift after surgery. A 49-year-old, perimenopausal nulliparous woman with lower abdominal pain and abnormal uterine bleeding. Clinical and radiological findings suggested a right adnexal tumor. CA-125 level was moderately elevated. Total abdominal hysterectomy with bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy was done. Peroperative findings revealed a soft to friable growth arising from right fallopian tube with no involvement of ovaries. BACKGROUND: Primary fallopian tube carcinoma (PFTC) is a malignant tumor of the female genital tract that mostly presents intraperitoneal dissemination in clinical practice. The incidence of upper anterior mediastinal metastasis in PFTCs is extremely rare. We herein report a rare case of PFTC mediastinal metastasis after radical resection. When anterior mediastinal metastasis of an unknown origin is encountered, the possibility of PFTC should be considered.

We present here the first-reported case of tubal metastasis from colorectal cancer diagnosed by a preoperative pelvic ultrasound. A 53-year-old woman suffering from vaginal discharge was referred to us 2 years after she underwent a partial colectomy for adenocarcinoma. One cases of ectopic schistosomiasis in fallopian tube was found by the histopathological examination in Jingmen City. After surgery and anthelmintic treatment with praziquantel, the curative effect was satisfactory. This case suggests that in schistosomiasis endemic area, the imaging technology and tissue pathological examination should be used sufficiently for the differential diagnosis of ectopic schistosomiasis, so as to reduce misdiagnosis.

Both the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) and the American Cancer Society have recommended that surgeons should discuss the potential benefits of the prophylactic removal of the Fallopian tubes for permanent contraception or during surgeries for benign pathologies with every woman at risk for ovarian cancer.
