Postoperative stroke after cardiac surgery is often a lethal complication. Herein, we report on a patient who suffered space-occupying ischemic stroke after surgical treatment of type A aortic dissection. He underwent decompressive hemicraniectomy and, despite residual hemianopsia and left side flaccid hemiplegia, survived surgery and was discharged for rehabilitation. Sixteen-year-old mentally retarded male patient presented with a giant malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumor (MPNST) on his neck. Surgery was the chosen method of treatment by the help of a neurosurgeon for dissecting the mass from the nerves of the brachial plexus and a thoracic surgeon for removing the mass from the superior mediastinum. A mass of 2 kg in weight was excised gross totally. He had an early recurrence in the second month of the follow-up period despite postoperative irradiation therapy. He died of his disease due to the compression of vena cava superior.

George is a 46 year old who, at work, develops back pain with right sided sciatica. Initial findings include an absent right ankle jerk with sensory loss in the distribution of the right S1 nerve root. MRI scan confirms the diagnosis of an L5-S1 disc herniation with pressure on the right S1 nerve root. Following referral to a neurosurgeon he undergoes microdiscectomy. He is now six weeks postoperative. The scar healed well. His sciatica and ankle jerk have improved. He is now considering returning to work.

Spontaneous disappearance of an intracranial aneurysm after subarachnoid hemorrhage is an uncommon event and usually associated with severe cerebral vasospasm, giant aneurysms or the use of antifibrinolytics. We present a young woman who suffered a grade 5 subarachnoid hemorrhage with severe vasospasm caused by a small anterior communicating artery aneurysm. A case is reported of a woman aged 25 with a dislocation of the right mandibular condyle into the middle cranial fossa. The most striking clinical feature is a strongly limited mandibular movement and the fixation of the mandible in the dislocated position.
