Cutaneous and subcutaneous metastases of colorectal cancer is rare. The authors present a case of a 63-year-old man with colorectal carcinoma, who underwent preoperative staging with positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT). PET/CT demonstrated intensely increased uptake in the subcutaneous nodular lesion in the anterior surface of the right thigh. Histopathological examination of the excised subcutaneous nodular lesion revealed adenocarcinoma metastases.

Using superselective catheterization technique, venous sampling directly from the cavernous sinus was performed in seven patients with Cushing's disease and one patient with ectopic ACTH secreting tumor. The causes of renal vascular hypertension are outlined. These are guided by the influence on the renin-angiotensin mechanism. The so-called essential hypertension is not infrequently caused by an early nephrosclerosis, which can be diagnosed very early through electrone microscopy. Renal artery stenosis, caused by fibrodysplasia or arteriosclerosis represents a special case of renal vascular hypertension which can be treated effectively by balloon catheter dilatation. The results in 240 patients are presented where these therapeutic principles were applied.

New imaging techniques have had a major impact on radiologic evaluation of the mediastinum. Computed tomography has led the way in defining internal anatomy noninvasively. The clinical data and findings on the early postoperative intravenous digital subtraction angiograms (IVDSA's) were studied in 61 patients undergoing 70 consecutive conventional carotid endarterectomies and in 46 patients undergoing 50 consecutive carotid endarterectomies with a saphenous vein patch graft (SVPG).
