Epstein–Barr virus (EBV) infection usually occurs in early childhood and can persist in palatine tonsil lymphocytes to induce tonsillitis at a later date. We have examined the presence of EBV in palatine tonsils and relationship between EBV-DNA quantity in tonsil tissues and VCA-IgG quantity in autologous sera. A proteomic approach has been used to establish a proteome map and differentiate between the protein composition of tonsils from patients with chronic tonsillitis (CT) and that of tonsils with hyperplasia (HPL). Rectal tonsil is an uncommon reactive lymphoid proliferation that may mimic a rectal neuroendocrine tumor endoscopically and a low-grade lymphoid neoplasm histologically. OBJECTIVE: To investigate the clinical features and prognostic factors of primary tonsil lymphoma (PTL).
METHODS: The clinical data of 41 patients diagnosed with PTL and treated in the Affiliated Hospital of Xuzhou Medical University from January 2015 to December 2022 were collected and retrospectively analyzed. Their clinical features and prognostic factors were analyzed.

Palmoplantar pustulosis (PPP) is a chronic relapsing inflammatory disease of unknown aetiology characterized by erythema, scaling, and aseptic pustules, which pose a significant clinical, psychological, and economic burden to patients. INTRODUCTION: Tonsillectomy is one of the most common otolaryngologic surgeries and is increasingly being performed for the management of tonsil stones or tonsilloliths. Incidentally, over the years, tonsilloliths have become a popular topic on the social media platform TikTok (ByteDance, Beijing, China) and we propose that this may be influencing the trends of tonsillectomies for tonsil stones. Objectives: We aim to assess rates of outpatient visits and tonsillectomies for tonsil stones at our institution as well as analyze videos on TikTok regarding tonsil stones.

Choristoma is a tumor like mass which is an ectopic rest of normal tissue due to embryological developmental defect. The presence of choristoma in tonsil is extremely rare. On histopathological examination, mature hyaline cartilage were found surrounded by lymphoid follicles. We present a case of cartilaginous choristoma with the complaint of recurrent tonsillitis.
