A 22-year-old male patient presented with complaints of pain and redness in the right eye. Slitlamp examination revealed giant papillae on both tarsal conjunctivae, bilateral punctate corneal epitheliopathy and a 2.9 x 2.9 mm epithelial defect in the right eye. The diagnosis was bilateral vernal keratoconjunctivitis with shield ulcer in the right eye. Treatment was commenced with prednisolone (1%) eye drops four times daily and sodium hyaluronate (0.1%) eye drops eight times daily. Tumor cytoreduction combined with intraperitoneal hyperthermic chemotherapy has been shown to be an effective method to delay the progression of peritoneal carcinomatosis. We describe 2 cases of painful scrotal ulcer after tumor debulking and intraperitoneal infusion of mitomycin-C for treatment of metastatic abdominal malignancies. Although the pathogenesis is unknown, the awareness of its presence and early signs of clinical presentations by clinicians is very important.

Laparoscopic closure of an acutely perforated duodenal ulcer is an alternative procedure to open surgery. With proper training and experience this procedure might overtake laparotomy and simple closure thereby reducing the post operative morbidity in terms of reduced wound pain, short hospital stay, likely reduced wound sepsis and hernia occurrence and post operative chest complications. We report a 63-year old man with acute perforation of duodenal ulcer who were submitted to an emergency laparoscopic repair, first time done on the Department of Surgery, Univerisity Clinical Center of Tuzla.

The cost of managing chronic ulcers, both venous leg and decubiti (sacral pressure), was reviewed using 36 randomized, controlled studies with a focus on saline, hydrocolloid, and a human skin construct. When one includes the labor intensiveness of dressing changes three to four times per day, the application of hydrocolloid dressings becomes the most cost-effective.
