Hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis (HLH) is a life-threatening hyperinflammatory disorder that occurs as a consequence of immune dysregulation. Neonatal lupus erythematosus (NLE) is a disease of the first few months of infancy. BACKGROUND: Thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura (TTP) in adults is usually caused by autoantibody inhibitors of ADAMTS13. Treatment with plasma exchange is often effective but does not address the underlying autoimmune process.
