Hypoactive sexual desire (HSD) is the deficiency of sexual fantasies and desire that should be considered as a disorder if it causes distress to the couple. One of the first concern in medicine today is focused on illnesses resulting from interacting risk factors. Such an analysis requires a multidisciplinary approach. Smoking behaviour is a well known risk factor and is related to real, symbolic and imaginative life. Starting to smoke is monitored by psychosociological factors as well as smoking habits seems to be combined with biological factors. A smoker's consultation project is presented: individual preliminary talks and group therapy are seen from a psychosomatic point of view including positive connotation and mental imagery training.

A 10 1/2-year-old girl had a ten-month history of spontaneous episodes of epistaxis and bleeding from the skin, eyes, and ears. The bizarre nature of the complaint, labeled as stigmata prior to referral, along with the altered family dynamics, led to the conclusion that the origin of the episodes was factitial. A mild case of gingivitis proved to be the source of blood for the bleeding episodes.

Sixty-nine schizophrenic patients (52 men and 17 women) who were consecutive admissions to Shehar Psychiatric Hospital, Taif, Saudi Arabia, were investigated for the phenomenology and frequency of visual hallucinations. Of these patients 43 (62 per cent) were visually hallucinated. It is concluded that visual hallucinations in schizophrenia are of common occurrence in this country. The need for further investigation as to the part played by cultural and other factors is emphasized.

The current research intended to study the state of mental health among the community of transgender individuals in Pakistan. The level of psychological resilience and self-esteem was explored in addition to finding the differences regarding socio-demographic factors.
