Assessing treatment satisfaction in patients treated with pramlintide as an adjunct to insulin therapy.

OBJECTIVE: This study was designed to assess treatment satisfaction in patients using pramlintide who had not previously achieved glycemic targets with insulin therapy alone. Assessment included the association between treatment satisfaction and clinical outcomes (changes in post-prandial glucose [PPG], glycosylated hemoglobin [HbA(1c)], weight, and insulin requirements). RESEARCH DESIGN AND METHODS: In this open-label study 240 participants with type 1 diabetes and 160 participants with type 2 diabetes added pramlintide to their established insulin regimen. Mealtime insulin doses were subseq

The role of patient-provider communication, patient satisfaction, and self-efficacy on health-related quality of life in hormone receptor-positive breast cancer survivors.

BACKGROUND: Effective patient-provider communication (PPC) is critical during the initiation of adjuvant endocrine therapy (AET) and is essential to health-related quality of life (HRQoL). Research highlighting factors linking PPC and HRQoL among women initiating AET is limited. This study sought to examine the relationship between PPC and HRQoL through the serial mediating effect of patient satisfaction (PS) and communication/attitudinal self-efficacy (CA-SE) among women initiating AET. METHODS: 572 hormone receptor-positive breast cancer survivors (BCSs) on AET completed questionnaires asse…

[Better patient orientation through certified cancer centres in oncological care? Patient satisfaction in breast cancer patients in certified breast cancer centres and noncertified hospitals].

OBJECTIVES: We investigated whether patient satisfaction (including its subdimensions) among breast cancer patients depends on the place of the treatment (certified breast cancer centre vs. noncertified clinics). Furthermore, we examined the impact of patient- and disease-related factors on patient satisfaction. METHODS: 652 breast cancer patients (n = 480 from certified breast cancer centres and n = 172 from noncertified clinics) took part in the study after their hospital stay and completed a questionnaire. Data on patient satisfaction (Hamburger Fragebogen zum Krankenhausaufenthalt, HFK), …

Patient satisfaction and perception of success after total knee arthroplasty are more strongly associated with patient factors and complications than surgical or anaesthetic factors.

PURPOSE: A proportion of TKA recipients following TKA are dissatisfied with their outcome. Our hypothesis is that patient satisfaction with TKA and perception of success of surgery are associated with patient comorbidities and overall health status, surgical and anaesthetic techniques as well as processes of post-operative care after TKA. The aims were to (i) measure the incidence of patient unfavourable outcomes-defined as dissatisfaction with the surgery or lack of joint-specific global improvement-1 year after TKA, and to explore the differences between these two outcomes of interest; (ii) …

Reaching Minimal Clinically Important Difference, Substantial Clinical Benefit, and Patient-Acceptable Symptomatic State for Patient-Reported Outcome Measures following Arthroscopic Rotator Cuff Repair Does Not Correlate with Patient Satisfaction.

Purpose: Minimal clinically important difference (MCID), substantial clinical benefit (SCB), and patient acceptable symptomatic state (PASS) … nalog Score (VAS) for pain following arthroscopic rotator cuff repair (RCR) correlates with overall patient satisfaction. Methods: This was a single-institution, retrospective study of patients who underwent RCR from 2015 to 2019. Pre-operative and 2 year postoperative ASES, SANE, SST, and VAS scores were recorded. Patients underwent a survey to assess: (1) what is yo …

Effects of a multicomponent intervention for clinical pharmacists on patient recall of pharmacist visits and satisfaction with care.

BACKGROUND: Pharmaceutical practice in the hospital setting has undergone major transformations in recent years, increasingly focusing on direct patient care. Limited evidence is available regarding patient-pharmacist interaction even though patients' satisfaction with care has been correlated with clinical outcomes. OBJECTIVE: This study evaluated whether a multicomponent intervention for inpatient clinical pharmacists was associated with changes in two co-primary outcomes: patient recall of pharmacist visits and satisfaction with pharmacist-provided care. METHODS: This single-center, prosp

Patient-reported satisfaction with thermal water-based cosmetic products in breast cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy: a feasibility study.

AIMS: Chemotherapy and radiotherapy often lead to cutaneous toxicities, which can significantly affect the quality of life of breast cancer patients. Dermatologic side effects of chemotherapy remain an unexplored area of supportive oncology care. This feasibility study aims to assess the patient's satisfaction and tolerability of thermal water-based cosmetic products for managing chemotherapy-induced skin problems. DESIGN: This prospective, single-center feasibility study included 30 women with non-metastatic breast cancer receiving chemotherapy. Patients were provided with thermal water-base

Applicator preferences for subcutaneous biologics in inflammatory bowel disease: influence on patient satisfaction and willingness to switch treatment.

BACKGROUND: Subcutaneous biologics administered with various applicator types are widely used to treat inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). The aim was to determine the applicator characteristics most important to patients and to assess whether these factors influence their willingness to switch biologic therapy. METHODS: This prospective and cross-sectional study included 50 patients with IBD on maintenance treatment with subcutaneous biological drugs (adalimumab, golimumab, and vedolizumab). The patients completed a questionnaire regarding the applicators they were using and were afterwards pr

Patient-centered outcomes of double-J ureteral stents: Symptom frequency and satisfaction in a resource-limited healthcare system.

OBJECTIVE: This study aimed to quantify the prevalence and severity of indwelling double-J (DJ) ureteral stent-related symptoms, characterize pain perception, and evaluate patient satisfaction among adult patients in a resource-limited healthcare system, while identifying demographic and clinical factors associated with symptom burden and satisfaction. METHODS: A cross-sectional study was conducted between April and December 2025 at two major urology centers. Trust, satisfaction, engagement, and sustainable healthcare delivery: Exploring patient behavior through sentimental analysis in AI-powered telemedicine platforms.

BACKGROUND: Telemedicine platforms are transforming the healthcare sector by providing patients with convenient access to medical consultations, thereby improving healthcare outcomes and promoting sustainable healthcare delivery. As a key driver of patient engagement, AI-powered telemedicine services help individuals manage their health challenges, reduce risks, and enhance overall well-being. In addition, by minimizing the need for physical visits, telemedicine contributes to environmental sustainability through reduced carbon emissions from travel. The main objective of the study is to show

The Experiences of Patients With Vanishing Twin Syndrome: A Mixed-Methods Exploration of Patient Satisfaction and Miscarriage Information.

Vanishing twin syndrome is a miscarriage of multiples where one or more fetuses 'vanishes' (i.e., partial or full resorption or via calcification) during pregnancy, often before detection via ultrasound. It affects 30-50% of multifetal pregnancies, with most cases resulting in full resorption within the first trimester. Despite its recognition since 1945 and rising occurrence in both natural and assisted pregnancies, standardized clinical guidelines remain inadequate, leading to inconsistent diagnosis, counseling, and communication from healthcare providers. This study examines the experiences
