The authors examined the effect of state anxiety on the personality test scores of 56 patients receiving treatment for panic disorder and agoraphobia. Two hundred and twenty-six female patients undergoing investigation for urinary incontinence completed the Eysenck Personality Inventory questionnaire. The results of the questionnaire were correlated with the symptomatology and urodynamic findings. Incontinence and neuroticism were found to be related. Close phenomenologic evaluation of these behaviors reveals that they can be differentiated into various subcategories.
