Back pain is a major cause of disability worldwide. A case of a 29 year old Caucasian woman with low back pain secondary to an uncommon benign condition called osteitis condensans ilii is presented and the literature is reviewed. Limited information in the literature combined with poor awareness across the specialty and among the primary care physicians leads to an extensive investigation and misdiagnosis of this benign condition. This report emphasis the salient features and the differential diagnosis in diagnosing and managing this rare condition.

We report the case of a 26 years old woman, who was hospitalized for an acute anterior myocardial infarction, which happened 17 days after delivery. The culprit lesion was a coronary dissection observed on the coronary angiogram which was performed on the 7th day. This dissection cicatrised spontaneously at the control coronarography performed 3 months later. Conventional medical treatment seems to be sufficient, although the use of thrombolysis in our case was safe and successful.

Following delivery, our patient presented acutely with a painful swelling in the groin. Diagnosis could only be established by exploration. Thrombosed veins of the round ligament were found on histology of the swelling. Exploration was necessary to rule out an acute inguinal hernia.

A 25-year-old female patient with presumed peripartum cardiomyopathy was submitted after two years to orthotopic heart transplantation. Pathological examination of the excised heart revealed acute rheumatic fever. Five days after the transplantation persistent fever developed. The patient's condition deteriorated until death after six weeks, which was attributed to cytomegalovirus disease.
