BACKGROUND: Reported data regarding intraocular lymphoma (IOL) management are anecdotal. Cases of IOL included in an international multicentre series of 378 immunocompetent patients with primary central nervous system lymphomas (PCNSLs) were reviewed.

PURPOSE: To compare conjunctival and macular manifestations of sickle cell anemia using optical coherence tomography angiography (OCTA).
OBSERVATIONS: OCTA imaging of the macula in two patients with HbSS and HbSC revealed areas of decreased vascular density, more prominent in the deep capillary plexus than in the superficial capillary plexus. Conjunctival OCTA of both affected patients revealed areas of reduced vascular density corresponding to the vascular abnormalities observed on slit lamp examination and prominent conjunctival flow voids when compared to an unaffected control.

We report a rare case of peripheral ulcerative keratitis (PUK) associated with Behçet's disease. A 34-year-old female presented with right ocular pain persisting for 8 months. The patient had been treated for previously diagnosed Behçet's disease. The corrected visual acuity was 20/32 in the right eye. Ocular examination revealed mild conjunctival hyperemia and a deep ulcerative lesion with perilesional haziness in the peripheral cornea. Autoimmune screening and corneal culture were negative. One month following treatment with topical and systemic immunosuppressants, the symptom had resolved.

OBJECTIVE: To determine frequencies of eye diseases and causes of blindness in this rural area.
METHOD: During a one month period (February 1996), a study was carried out in three rural centers (Mbandaka, Iboko, Lukolela) in the South Western Equator, in the tropical equatorial forest area. A total of 700 patients were examined and ophthalmological examination included visual acuity, inspection of adnexa, refraction, slit-lamp examination, direct funduscopy and intraocular pressures.
