A 53-year-old woman presented with epigastric pain. Gastroscopy and abdominal CT suggested a tumorous lesion in the gastric antrum with possible local perforation. 18 F-FDG PET/CT was performed for staging, revealing intense FDG uptake in the gastric antral wall and in segments I and IV of the liver, highly suggestive of primary gastric cancer with hepatic metastases. Goblet cell adenocarcinoma (GCA) is known as an amphicrine tumor often seen in the appendix. Here, we report a rare case of GCA in the stomach. An 80-year-old man underwent gastroscopy due to epigastric pain and was diagnosed with gastric cancer. We present the case of an 87-year-old female who presented with upper dysphagia to solids, weight loss of 5 kg and weakness in the upper limbs of a seven months duration. We report the case of a 68-year-old woman who underwent laparoscopic gastrectomy for a gastric gastrointestinal stromal tumor (GIST) after neoadjuvant chemotherapy with imatinib mesylate. Acute gastrointestinal bleeding is one of the most frequent medical emergencies. The most common causes are inflammations, ulcers, neoplasms … ed. Following admission to our hospital, a bleeding through the ampulla of Vater was discovered via gastroscopy. The CT scan showed arterial bleeding into the gallbladder. We immediately performed a laparotomy and found a cholecysto-colic fistula as the cause of the bleeding into the transverse colon.

METHODS: In a pilot study we have evaluated the clinical efficacy of bismuth sucralfate to eradicate H. pylori. Ten consecutive patients with chronic dyspepsia and H. pylori associated gastritis were treated with bismuth sucralfate (220 mg bismuth per tablet, 4 tablets per day for 4 weeks). Over a period of 3 months, 85 patients who underwent gastroscopy had antral biopsy taken for Clotest, histology and/or culture for Helicobacter pylori (HP). The sensitivity and specificity of Clotest were found to be 77% and 96% respectively with negative predictive value of 63% and positive predictive value of 98%.
