This study compared the efficacy of low-level laser therapy (LLLT) versus laser acupuncture therapy (LAT) in patients with temporomandibular disorders (TMDs). The clinical effects of treatment with 808- and 980-nm diode lasers as an adjunct to a uniform and consistent nonsurgical periodontal treatment protocol (NSPTP) for initial probing pockets ≥ 6 mm with a 10-year follow-up were evaluated. PURPOSE: To search the effectiveness of postoperative first week ostium cleaning in transcanalicular diode laser-assisted dacryocystorhinostomy (TDL-DCR).
MATERIALS AND METHODS: A total of 123 eyes of 123 patients with acquired dacryostenosis who had surgery were retrospectively evaluated. Diode laser was used in all patients. All patients were operated under local anesthesia by a single surgeon. Intranasal endoscopic cleaning of the ostium by surgical suction under local anesthesia was performed as an extra job in the postoperative first week visit.

Recurrent aphthous stomatitis (RAS) is one of the most common and painful ulcerative lesions of the oral cavity, but until now no cure has been recognized for it. OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the safety and efficacy of diode laser-assisted bipolar transurethral resection of the prostate (TURP) with an oyster procedure for large prostate glands (>80 mL).
METHODS: A total of 43 men who presented with lower urinary tract symptoms because of large prostate (>80 mL) obstruction were enrolled in our study. All of these patients underwent the oyster procedure. Measurements included the urinary flow rate, symptom score, duration of catheterization, length of hospital stay, and urinary flow rate. All patients were re-examined 3, 6, and 12 months after surgery.

The primary cause of hearing loss includes damage to cochlear hair cells. Low-level laser therapy (LLLT) has become a popular treatment for damaged nervous systems. Based on the idea that cochlea hair cells and neural cells are from same developmental origin, the effect of LLLT on hearing loss in animal models is evaluated. BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVE: Commercially available photodynamic therapy for periodontal diseases utilizes methylene blue as a photosensitizer. Here we propose a novel photosensitizer dye, indocyanine green (ICG), because it can be readily activated by commercially available dental 810 nm diode lasers and has an established safety record as an intravascular agent in cardiac imaging and ophthalmologic photodynamic therapy. Therefore, we aim to characterize ICG uptake and killing of key periodontal pathogens to explore its potential as a periodontal photodynamic therapy agent.
