Aim of this survey is to review the few available literature data on pathophysiologic and clinical aspects of pubertal development in boys with McCune-Albright syndrome (MAS). Dystrophic calcification of hilar lymph nodes is a common response to chronic inflammation related to several etiologies and rarely is associated with any clinical findings. Mediastinal pseudocysts can pose a diagnostic and therapeutic challenge to the clinician and surgeon. Recognizing their presence and instituting appropriate therapy can reduce morbidity and mortality. This report describes unusual clinical features in a patient presenting with multiple mediastinal pseudocysts due to pancreatic duct leak secondary to pancreatic duct stenosis and an entrapment of a pancreatic duct stone. Successful endoscopic therapy averted the need for surgery.

The authors report the case of a patient with a history of testicular cryptorchidism followed for 4 years for infertility and who developed seminoma. Bilateral testicular microlithiasis was initially detected on ultrasonography. On the basis of this case and a review of the literature, the authors discuss the aetiopathogenesis and management of these microscopic stones in a context of cancer.

To investigate the possible relationship between gallbladder cholesterolosis and acute pancreatitis, we studied 3797 cholecystectomy specimens and found 55 cases of gallbladder cholesterolosis unassociated with biliary lithiasis. From the reviewed case notes, 27 of these patients presented with recurrent attacks of acute pancreatitis which disappeared after cholecystectomy (follow-up 65.1 months).
