A retrospective analysis is reported of the management of 117 cases of infertility associated with Stage III and IV endometriosis. Combined medico-microsurgical treatment was selected in 75.3% of Stage III cases and in 83.3% of those on Stage IV. Medication consisted of medroxyprogesterone acetate in 26 patients and danazol in the remaining 64. Microsurgery alone was utilized in 24.7% of Stage III patients and in 16.6% of those on Stage IV. 63 cases of hyperprolactinaemia (55 women and 8 men) were studied. Of the 55 women, 39 presented with infertility, while five were unmarried and had menstrual abnormalities. All eight men were partners of an infertile union. The principal modes of presentation of hyperprolactinaemia in women were infertility (74.6%) and menstrual disorders (27.6%). Recently, the number of women who participate in strenuous exercise has increased significantly. The relationship between delayed menarche and early onset of sports training, and increased incidence of menstrual dysfunction related to athletic activity had led to increased interest. Five basketball players who are among the best players in Japan were subjected to an investigation of endocrinological responses effected by 60 minutes continuous exercise cycle ergometer. The VO2max value was previously examined. Then, the level of load during exercise was established at 60% VO2max in this study.

Sixty-eight women with pituitary tumours exhibiting gynaecological symptoms have been reviewed. Fifty-two tumours were prolactinomas while 6 were growth hormone secreting, 6 ACTH secreting, 1 was a large 'inert' adenoma and 3 were late-presenting craniopharyngiomas. Forty-eight women with menstrual dysfunction and clinical evidence of excess androgen production were subjected to an adrenocorticotropic hormone stimulation test that demonstrated the presence of a late-onset 11- or 21-adrenocortical hydroxylase deficiency. A group of 131 patients with carcinoma of the ovary developed in 16% irregular bleedings. In 9,2% bleeding was caused dysfunctional. 9 of 42 cases (= 21%) showed a significant prolife-ration of the endometrium. The findings are compared with the results of other authors and discussed.
