Motion Controlled Text-to-4D Generation with Multi-View Video Diffusion Model.

Recent advances in 2D and 3D generative modeling have paved the way for 4D generation. However, existing methods predominantly focus on text-to-4D generation, emphasizing temporal smoothness and spatial consistency while often neglecting precise motion control. Furthermore, due to the inherent ambiguity of text descriptions, current approaches fail to generate specific and controllable motion patterns. To address this limitation, we propose Motion4D, a rigging-free framework that animates static humanoid meshes with arbitrary initial poses by replicating the motion pattern of a reference seque

Rethinking the Aggregation Head: Competitive Slot Distillation for Robust Visual Place Recognition.

Visual Place Recognition (VPR) localizes a query image by retrieving the best-matching place from a large-scale geo-tagged database. Its key challenge lies in aggregating the stable structural cues from distractor-saturated scenes into a global descriptor. Existing aggregation methods follow a single-pass paradigm that struggles to fully disentangle informative cues from distractors, and largely offload this unresolved burden onto auxiliary external modules. Inspired by natural selection, we recast aggregation as an iterative structure-distillation process, in which stable structural cues are

Spatial-Frequency Learning for Scanning Transmission Electron Microscopy Image Enhancement.

Scanning Transmission Electron Microscopy (STEM) enables the observation of atomic arrangements at sub-angstrom resolution and plays a key role in the discovery and characterization of advanced materials. Raw STEM images are often noisy and blurred due to multiple degradations. Although recent deep learning methods improve STEM images, their performance remains limited under severe degradations. In this work, we propose a spatial-frequency learning framework for STEM image enhancement. Specifically, we design a spatial-frequency fusion network that exploits periodic atomic arrangements in the

MORIC: CSI Delay-Doppler Decomposition for Robust Wi-Fi-based Human Activity Recognition.

The newly established IEEE 802.11bf Task Group aims to amend the WLAN standard to support advanced sensing applications such as human activity recognition (HAR). Although studies have demonstrated the potential of sub-7 GHz Wi-Fi Channel State Information (CSI) for HAR, existing methods often degrade substantially under realistic variations across users, environments, and sensing configurations. This work addresses the poor generalization of Wi-Fi-based HAR by extracting motion-centered representations that reduce dependence on static, environment-specific, and non-activity-related CSI magnitu

Pathway-Aware Multimodal Transformer (PAMT): Integrating Pathological Image and Gene Expression for Interpretable Cancer Survival Analysis.

Integrating multimodal data of pathological image and gene expression for cancer survival analysis can achieve better results than using a single modality. However, existing multimodal learning methods ignore fine-grained interactions between both modalities, especially the interactions between biological pathways and pathological image patches. In this article, we propose a novel Pathway-Aware Multimodal Transformer (PAMT) framework for interpretable cancer survival analysis. Specifically, the PAMT learns fine-grained modality interaction through three stages: (1) In the intra-modal pathway-p

Temporal Stereo Matching From Event Cameras via Joint Learning With Stereoscopic Flow.

Event cameras are dynamic vision sensors inspired by the biological retina, offering high dynamic range, high temporal resolution, and low power consumption. These qualities allow them to perceive 3D environments even in extreme conditions. Event data is continuously recorded over time, capturing pixel movements in detail. To leverage this temporal density, we introduce a temporal event stereo framework that continuously uses past information. The event stereo matching network is jointly trained with stereoscopic flow, which tracks pixel movements from stereo cameras. Instead of relying on opt

Reconstructing Satellites in 3D From Amateur Telescope Images.

Monitoring space objects is crucial for space situational awareness, yet reconstructing 3D satellite models from ground-based telescope images is super challenging due to atmospheric turbulence, long observation distances, limited viewpoints, and low signal-to-noise ratios. In this paper, we propose a novel computational imaging framework that overcomes these obstacles by integrating a hybrid image pre-processing pipeline with a joint pose estimation and 3D reconstruction module based on controlled Gaussian Splatting (GS) and Branch-and-Bound (BnB) search. We validate our approach on both synt

Quantum Generative Diffusion Model: A Fully Quantum-Mechanical Model for Generating Quantum State Ensemble.

Mixed quantum states are the native description of many physically important quantum systems, making their generation a fundamental task in quantum information processing. However, constructing a diffusion process that generates density operators while keeping every reverse step physically valid remains nontrivial. This work introduces Quantum Generative Diffusion Model (QGDM), a fully quantum-mechanical model whose forward and backward processes are grounded in quantum channel theory. Through a non-unitary forward process, any target quantum state can be transformed into a completely mixed st

Spatio-Temporal Garment Reconstruction Using Diffusion Mapping via Pattern Coordinates.

Reconstructing 3D clothed humans from monocular images and videos is a fundamental problem with applications in virtual try-on, avatar creation, and mixed reality. Despite significant progress in human body recovery, accurately reconstructing garment geometry, particularly for loose-fitting clothing, remains an open challenge. We propose a unified framework for high-fidelity 3D garment reconstruction from both single images and video sequences. Our approach combines Implicit Sewing Patterns (ISP) with a generative diffusion model to learn expressive garment shape priors in 2D UV space. Leverag

Multiview Graph Clustering with Credible Signed Information.

Current Multiview Graph Clustering (MGC) methods primarily focus on fusing multiple graphs and/or spectral embeddings to seek common clustering sets, however, the tendency between nodes and the locality between clusters and views are scarcely considered. Specifically, there are consistent topological structures in multiview graphs, which imply the tendency for pairwise nodes to be connected or disconnected across views. The locality refers to specific local structures, where some clusters exhibit clear discriminative patterns in partial views, whereas these patterns are broken in other views.

Discriminately Treating Motion Components Evolves Joint Depth and Ego-Motion Learning.

Unsupervised learning of depth and ego-motion, two fundamental tasks in 3D perception, has made significant strides in recent years. Nevertheless, existing methods often treat ego-motion estimation as an auxiliary task, typically indiscriminately mixing all motion types when generating supervisory signals. Such designs hinder the incorporation of sufficiently strong geometric constraints into the joint learning framework, thereby limiting its robustness under diverse adverse conditions. This study introduces a discriminative treatment of motion components by leveraging the distinct geometric r

Decentralized Federated Learning by Partial Message Exchange.

Decentralized federated learning (DFL) has emerged as a transformative server-free paradigm that enables collaborative learning over large-scale heterogeneous networks. However, it continues to face fundamental challenges, including data heterogeneity, restrictive assumptions for theoretical analysis, and de graded convergence when standard communication- or privacy enhancing techniques are applied. To overcome these drawbacks, this paper develops a novel algorithm, PaME (DFL by Partial Message Exchange). The central principle is to allow only randomly selected sparse coordinates to be exchang

Evolving Diverse Red-Team Language Models in Multi-Round Multi-Agent Games.

The primary challenge in deploying Large Language Model (LLM) is ensuring its harmlessness. Red team can identify vulnerabilities by attacking LLM to attain safety. However, current efforts heavily rely on single-round prompt designs and unilateral red team optimizations against fixed blue teams. These static approaches lead to significant reductions in generation diversity, known as the mode collapse, which makes it difficult to discover the potential risks in the increasingly complex human-LLM interactions. Here we introduce dynamic Red Team Game (RTG) to comprehensively analyze the multi-ro

On Demographic Group Fairness Guarantees in Deep Learning.

We present a theoretical framework analyzing the relationship between data distributions and fairness guarantees in deep learning. Our work establishes novel bounds that explicitly account for data distribution heterogeneity across demographic groups, while introducing a formal analysis framework that minimizes expected loss differences across these groups. Moreover, we derive bounds for fairness errors and convergence rates, characterizing how distributional differences between groups affect the fundamental trade-off between fairness and accuracy. Through extensive experiments on diverse data

Exploring Multimodal Adapters with Multi-Task Decoders for Video Action Recognition.

Large-scale vision-language pretrained models like CLIP, paired with parameter-efficient fine-tuning techniques, have emerged as promising solutions for image-to-video transfer in video action recognition. However, existing methods often prioritize strong supervised performance at the expense of transferability and generalization. To address this challenge, we propose a novel multimodal, multi-task CLIP adaptation framework, M$^{2}$-CLIP, which effectively balances high supervised performance with robust generalization. Our approach begins by enhancing individual modality architectures with mu

Think Before You Move: Latent Motion Reasoning for Text-to-Motion Generation.

Current state-of-the-art paradigms predominantly treat Text-to-Motion (T2M) generation as a direct translation problem, mapping symbolic language directly to continuous poses. While effective for simple actions, this "System 1" approach faces a fundamental theoretical bottleneck we identify as the Semantic-Kinematic Impedance Mismatch: the inherent difficulty of grounding semantically dense, discrete linguistic intent into kinematically dense, high-frequency motion data in a single shot. In this paper, we argue that the solution lies in an architectural shift towards Latent System 2 Reasoning.

IBCB: Efficient Inverse Batched Contextual Bandit for Behavioral Evolution History.

Traditional imitation learning focuses on modeling the behavioral mechanisms of experts, which requires a large amount of interaction history generated by some fixed expert. However, in many streaming applications, such as streaming recommender systems, online decision-makers typically engage in online learning during the decision-making process, meaning that the interaction history generated by online decision-makers includes their behavioral evolution from novice expert to experienced expert. This poses a new challenge for existing imitation learning approaches that can only utilize data fro

Evolving Markov Chains: Online Mode Discovery and Recognition From Data Streams.

Markov chains are simple yet powerful mathematical structures to model temporally dependent processes. They generally assume stationary data, i.e., fixed transition probabilities between observations/states. However, live, real-world processes, like in the context of activity tracking, biological time series, or industrial monitoring, often switch behavior over time. Such behavior switches can be modeled as transitions between higher-level modes (e.g., running, walking, etc.). Yet all modes are usually not previously known, often exhibit vastly differing transition probabilities, and can switc

Consensus-Driven Distillation for Trustworthy Explanations in Self-Interpretable GNNs.

Self-interpretable graph neural networks (SI-GNNs) provide built-in explanations, yet these explanations are often inconsistent across independently trained models of the same architecture. Our prior work identified redundancy-the inclusion of uninformative features in explanations-as a primary cause of this inconsistency, and demonstrated that averaging explanations from multiple models (Explanation Ensemble, EE) effectively suppresses the high-variance scores of redundant features, thereby improving both explanation consistency and accuracy. Despite its effectiveness, however, EE requires ru

HGNNv2: Stable Hypergraph Neural Networks.

Hypergraph neural networks (HGNNs) are widely used models for analyzing higher-order relational data. HGNNs suffer from the rapid performance degradation with increasing layers. Hypergraph dynamic system (HDS) is a potential way to deal with this challenge. However, hypergraph dynamic system is confined to a time-continuous isotropic model, lacking positional information in the structural space of the hypergraph. In contrast, anisotropic diffusion can capture structural space differences among vertices, providing a more precise representation of the information propagation process in hypergrap
