The radial artery forearm free flap (RAFFF) is a versatile and popular flap used in various reconstructive procedures. This flap contains two venous drainage systems: a superficial (cephalic) route, and a deep (venae comitantes) route. Most surgeons use either the deep venous system alone or in combination with a superficial vessel, hence requiring two venous anastomoses. Spermatic vein occlusion by means of selective injection of boiling contrast material into the spermatic vein was attempted in 175 men with symptomatic varicoceles or infertility. Seventy-six patients (43%) returned for follow-up venography. Of 115 veins injected, 96 (83%) were totally occluded on the follow-up venogram obtained at 6 weeks to 2 years after injection. This study investigated the effect of endodontic treatment on root resorption of autotransplanted and allotransplanted mature teeth in unmatched monkeys. The material comprised 40 mature maxillary central incisors in 20 green Vervet monkeys (Cercopithecus aethiops). Experimental ischemic colitis proximal to artificial bowel obstruction was produced under poor regional circulatory conditions in rats. 10 young patients from 7 to 16 years of age with moyamoya disease were treated by temporal muscle graft (encephalo-myo-synangiosis: EMS) for the purpose of increasing extracranial and intracranial collateral circulation. Ischemic cerebrovascular symptoms and signs were encountered in all of them without intracranial hemorrhage. The patients were observed for 6-26 months after the first operation. Abnormalities and age-related changes in the anconeal processes of 60 boars were studied. Postmortem examination of both cubitus joints from 25 lame adolescent boars and from 5 of their nonlame contemporaries revealed cartilaginous tissue (termed cartilage plate) of varying size between the anconeal process and the ulnar diaphysis in 8 of the lame animals. BACKGROUND: The goal in vaccinology is to identify candidate antigens for clinical trials that will elicit an immune response for a significant portion of the target population. Unfortunately, promising data generated at the preclinical level often cannot be replicated in larger sample sizes. The goal of this project was to develop a methodology for processing MAE-generated data to identify MHC epitopes, minimize non-specific contaminants, find binding motifs, and utilize genetic connections among donors to determine which peptides were presented by specific MHC alleles.
