BACKGROUND: Chromium (Cr) release from Cr-tanned leather articles is a major cause of Cr contact dermatitis. It has been suggested that Cr(VI) release from leather is not necessarily an intrinsic property of the leather, but is strongly dependent on environmental conditions.

The incidence of cutaneous malignant melanoma has increased during the last decades in Sweden as in many other countries. Besides of ultraviolet radiation and constitutional factors such as light-sensitive skin and poor ability to tan few risk factors are established. Some studies indicate that electromagnetic fields might be of concern. In this case-control study we assessed use of mobile and cordless phones in 347 cases with melanoma in the head and neck region and 1184 controls. Mobile app-based interventions, especially photoaging technologies for sun protective behaviors, are new and promising tools. We conducted a review of published studies to date that evaluate such mobile apps used in pediatric populations, and our analysis highlights short-term improvements in sun-protective behaviors, with over 90% of adolescent users (n = 365) reporting increased motivation to reduce UV exposure and 61.7%-63% of users (n = 205) reporting such apps encouraged them to avoid tanning or improve protection. We describe a 24-year-old woman with acute hepatitis B virus infection who developed extensive erythematous papules in a photolocalized distribution. The eruption occurred during the prodromal phase, and subsided with the development of jaundice. She had had moderate sunburn 18 days prior to the development of the eruption, which was accentuated on the tanned area. To our knowledge, this is the first case of a photolocalized eruption due to hepatitis B virus infection.

Lymphocyte subpopulations of dermal infiltrated cells on experimental sporotrichosis of guinea pigs was performed. According to Tan's method, infected sites were incubated with collagenase and then mechanically disaggregated. The liberated cells were used for determination of lymphocytes subpopulation. The predominance of B cells was present on the inoculated site, compare with blood from control and inoculated animals. Thus, the present result suggests the important role of humoral immunity in the development of sporotrichosis lesion.
