OBJECTIVE: We present a clinical case of inverted papilloma of the anterior urethra in a male patient.
METHODS/RESULTS: 40 years-old man, without antecedents. The patient presented with dysuria and urethral bleeding on three occacions. Preliminary studies included radiographic voiding urethrocystography which revealed anterior urethral filling defect. Cystourethroscopy under anaesthetic was performed, allowing endoscopic resection of the tumour causing the filling defect. BACKGROUND: The management of patients with recurrent urethral strictures represents a challenge for the practicing urologist.
PATIENTS AND METHODS: We used holmium:yttrium-aluminum-garnet (Ho:YAG) laser in the management of recurrent urethral strictures in 13 patients. The energy level was set at 1.0 at a frequency of 10 pulses/sec. No treatment complications were observed. The mean preoperative maximum flow rate by uroflowmetric analysis was 3.8 mL/sec.

Primary clear cell adenocarcinoma of the urethra (CCAU) is a rare malignant tumor in the female genitourinary tract and reported only in single case reports. Imaging examinations play an important role in preoperative localization and qualitative diagnosis; the final diagnosis relies on pathologic examination.
