PURPOSE: To compare the operative data and early postoperative outcomes of total laparoscopic hysterectomy (TLH), laparoscopically assisted vaginal hysterectomy (LAVH) and vaginal hysterectomy (VH).
METHODS: One hundred and eight women requiring hysterectomy for enlarged myomatous uterus were randomly allocated into three treatment arms: TLH (n = 36); LAVH (n = 36); VH (n = 36). This case report illustrates how the tension-free vaginal tape (TVT) procedure can be successfully combined with another gynecological intervention. A 38-year-old patient had been diagnosed with didelphys uterus during cesarean section. She came to us for treatment of confirmed genuine stress incontinence. In conjunction with the TVT procedure, we resected the congenital vaginal septum. The patient has remained continent for over 1 year.

We describe on a case of a patient with Mayer-v. Rokitansky-Küster-syndrome the formation of a vagina by a laparoscopic modification of the Vecchietti-procedure. A further simplification of this procedure is the use of a laparoscopic needle-holder to tense the strings above the abdominal wall. We even abandoned the use of a prothesis after finishing the tension phase. Instead, we allowed early intercourse on the third day of extraction of the vaginal phantom.

The aim of the study was to evaluate the influence of a combined contraceptive vaginal ring (CCVR) made of Silastic on the cervico-vaginal epithelium during 20 cycles of use.
