A 41-year-old man with 1-year history of hypertension was discovered to have a right adrenal mass on abdominal ultrasound. Contrast CT was performed to discriminate malignant from benign tumor, which revealed tumors of right adrenal gland and prostate. 18 F-FDG PET/CT scan was performed for lesion characterization, and ruling out any distant metastasis. PET/CT scan showed high uptake in the right adrenal and prostatic lesions, which were surgically approved as adrenocortical carcinoma and primary prostatic synovial sarcoma.

The role of radiation therapy in the management of adrenal cortical carcinoma has had little documentation in the literature. Fourteen patients with this malignancy were given 18 courses of palliative, preoperative or postoperative irradiation. The clinical results are presented. Significant palliation was obtained in all patients along with occasional long term local control of unresectable lesions.

The presence of immunoreactive endothelin (ir-ET) in the tumor tissues of two cases of ectopic ACTH-secreting bronchial carcinoid tumors was studied by radioimmunoassay. Bilateral adrenal glands synchronously involved by different types of pathologies are uncommon. An 80-year-old man underwent FDG PET/CT to evaluate bilateral adrenal masses, which were initially discovered by ultrasonography and confirmed by MRI. The images demonstrated elevated FDG activity in both lesions, which were subsequently diagnosed as concurrent right adrenocortical carcinoma and left adrenal sarcomatoid carcinoma respectively by histopathological examination.

A case of fungiform mycosis with involvement of the liver, kidneys, and the skin in a female patient aged 56 is described. Duration of the illness--2 months. Lesions of the skin localized on the face and upper extremities. The anamnesis revealed chronic bronchitis and bronchial asthma of a 15-year duration. The corticosteroid therapy resulted in destruction of tumour-like nodes on the skin, but the patient died because of a concomitant bilateral fibrous-purulent pneumonia. The diagnosis was established on clinical data (on bioptic specimens of the skin) and corroborated by sectional material.

A 50-year-old male patient with no symptoms was admitted to our hospital for further evaluation of a right superior mediastinal mass shadow found in chest radiographs during a health examination. OBJECTIVE: To conduct a retrospective multi-institutional study reporting short- and long-term outcomes of adrenalectomy in patients presenting with acute hemorrhage secondary to spontaneous adrenal rupture.
ANIMALS: 59 dogs and 3 cats.
METHODS: Medical records of dogs and cats undergoing adrenalectomy between 2000 and 2021 for ruptured adrenal masses were reviewed. Data collected included clinical presentation, preoperative diagnostics, surgical report, anesthesia and hospitalization findings, histopathology, adjuvant treatments, and long-term outcome (recurrence, metastasis, and survival).

A percutaneous adrenal biopsy under CT guidance is described. The biopsy was performed after injection of physiologic saline solution into the paravertebral space, creating a wider pathway for needle insertion. This technique has been previously reported for biopsy of thoracic lesions, but in our case it was used for biopsy of a relatively inaccessible adrenal lesion. This artificial window that is formed by displacing the pleura laterally allows a direct and potentially safer access route to the retroperitoneum, avoiding puncture of pleura, diaphragm, and abdominal structures.
