Malignancies of the vulva in the pediatric population are exceptionally rare, which makes it difficult to gain any insight into their clinicopathologic profile. In this review, we summarize all published cases of a vulva malignancy in pediatric patients (≤21 years) reported in the English language literature for the 50-year period between 1970 and 2020. BACKGROUND: The presence of liver metastases represents an independent poor risk prognostic factor for survival in patients with germ cell tumors.
METHODS: The clinical files of 37 patients who had undergone liver resection for the treatment of disseminated germ cell tumors were reviewed to define the indications for resection of residual liver metastases after chemotherapy in patients with germ cell tumors. Testicular carcinoid tumors are rare with only limited studies. We identified 29 primary testicular carcinoid cases from 7 academic institutions. Patients ranged in age from 12 to 65 years old (mean 36). The most common presenting symptom was the sole finding of either a testicular mass or swelling seen in 15/24 cases with available information.
