Primary adenocarcinoma of the vulva of the cloacogenic type is extremely rare. We report the case of a 49-year-old patient with a 6-year history of recurrent left Bartholin's gland infection and a 1-year history of an ulcerated tumor on the similar lower aspect of the left labium majus. Fine needle biopsy revealed adenocarcinoma and wide local excision with bilateral superficial inguinal lymph node dissection was performed. Serum and fecal specimens from 147 birds were tested for Chlamydia psittaci. Isolation rates ranged from 3.4% of 88 birds that had titers less than 8, to 50% of six birds that had titers greater than or equal to 128. Testing of 44 paired sera revealed a significant titer increase in 5 pairs, a significant titer decrease in 8 pairs, and a stable titer in 31 pairs. The examination of both feces and serum is recommended for determining Chlamydia psittaci infections in individual live psittacine birds.

Diazepam followed by succinylcholine chloride was administered intramuscularly to 26 healthy mature female alligators on 2 occasions. The mean diazepam dosage was 0.37 mg/kg (range, 0.22 mg/kg to 0.62 mg/kg) and the mean succinylcholine chloride dosage was 0.24 mg/kg (range, 0.14 mg/kg to 0.37 mg/kg). Since the sources from which humans acquire Campylobacter enteritis are only partially known, we studied the frequency of carriage of Campylobacter fetus subsp. jejuni in migratory waterfowl. Cecal contents of various species of wild ducks were cultured on selective media that contained antibiotics to inhibit normal flora. Thirty-five percent of the 445 ducks cultured harbored C. fetus subsp. jejuni. Migratory waterfowl are yet another reservoir for this enteric pathogen and may be of public health importance for humans in the contamination of water or when used as food.
