PURPOSE: To report outcomes in cases of endogenous endophthalmitis (EE) following COVID-19 infection.

Optic neuritis (ON) is a rare neurological complication of measles infection. Little is known about measles-associated retrobulbar ON. Here, we report a distinct patient with unilateral retrobulbar ON due to measles infection. A 26-year-old woman developed maculopapular rash and Koplik spots. The aim of this study was to determine the causative factors, organisms and antibiotic resistance in patients with bacterial keratitis in Singapore. We analysed retrospectively 103 cases of bacterial keratitis admitted to the Singapore General Hospital or the Singapore National Eye Centre during a 21-month period from March 1992 to December 1993. BACKGROUND: Corneal perforation is an uncommon complication associated with keratoconus. The first cases of infectious keratitis and corneal perforation associated with corneal hydrops and contact lens wear are reported in two keratoconus patients.
METHODS: A retrospective chart review and histopathological examination were carried out.
RESULTS: Both patients progressed to corneal perforation and emergency penetrating keratoplasty. One patient cultured Fusarium and the second patient Serratia marcesens. Both patients wore contact lenses against medical advice.

Immune Reconstitution Inflammatory Syndrome (IRIS) is an inflammatory syndrome in the context of immune restoration directed at a specific infectious antigen despite resolution of infection, often associated with opportunistic infections. IRIS has been reported in 30% to 35% of HIV patients who have cryptococcosis in whom antiretroviral therapy was initiated. We would like to report a case of IRIS localized to the eye secondary to cryptococcal infection.

PURPOSE: To evaluate the effect on lacrimal function and ocular complications in patients with severe acne vulgaris during systemic treatment with 13-cis-retinoic acid (isotretinoin).
METHODS: Forty patients with acne vulgaris were treated with systemic isotretinoin at dosages of 0.5-1 mg/kg per day for two months. INTRODUCTION: Since the end of the 19th century, autologous fat grafting has often been used in plastic surgery. The first use was described in 1893 by Neurer and consisted in transferring a piece of fat tissue for facial reconstruction. Since then, this technique has evolved somewhat thanks to Coleman, who developed lipostructure. This technique is used in plastic surgery in the filling of orbital cul-de-sacs and unsightly scars. A young male complained of monocular diplopia for over a year. Ophthalmic evaluation revealed gross corneal pannus in both eyes and clinical findings precipitated treatment for chronic chlamydial eye disease. The definitive pathogen isolated from both eyes was Branhamella catarrhalis. A cause of otitis media, sinusitis, and lower respiratory infections, Branhamella is a rare, opportunistic ocular pathogen which may be associated with meibomian gland dysfunction.

The clinical trials of interferon in ophthalmology have been carried out mainly using a method of topical administration to viral keratoconjunctivitis. Eye infections by herpes simplex virus in humans have been shown to be benefited by interferon. Topical combination therapy of herpetic keratitis by interferon with debridement or other antiviral agents would be more effective. Epidemic keratoconjunctivitis have failed to respond favourably to interferon except some symptoms.

Soft hydrophilic contact lenses are widely favored thanks to their minimal ocular irritation. They may, however, also cause severe eye disease. In this report, allergies, hypoxia, tear film alterations, toxic effects and infections, as caused by soft lenses, are described, and their diagnosis, differential diagnosis and prophylaxis discussed. Moreover, it is pointed out that a misdiagnosis of "contact lens intolerance" may have serious consequences.

A congenital murine model of toxoplasmic retinochoroiditis was employed to study the ultrastructural pathology of retinal parasitization by Toxoplasma gondii.
