[INTRAVESICAL MIGRATED SUTURE AFTER LAPAROSCOPIC SACROCOLPOPEXY SUCCESSFULLY TREATED BY TRANSURETHRAL AND TRANSVESICAL SURGERY : A CASE REPORT].

A 68-year-old woman presented to a local physician with lower abdominal pain. Urinary bladder stones were identified, and the patient was referred to our department. She had undergone laparoscopic sacrocolpopexy (LSC) for uterine prolapse 2 years ago. Transurethral cystolithotripsy (TUCL) was performed, and a suture was found in the stone arising from the posterior bladder wall. We speculated that the suture migrated into the urinary bladder after LSC and formed a bladder stone. The sutures could not be removed transurethrally using a laser. A nephroscope was employed to attempt suture divisio

Cauda equina syndrome caused by intradural migration of a bullet: A rare case presentation.

Intradural migration of a bullet within the spinal canal represents an exceptionally uncommon clinical scenario and carries the potential for progressive or delayed neurological decline. Although such fragments may initially remain silent, their subsequent movement within the spinal canal can create significant diagnostic and therapeutic challenges. In this report, we present an unusual and instructive case of cauda equina syndrome that developed secondary to the delayed caudal migration of an intradural bullet fragment. We further provide a detailed discussion of the diagnostic evaluation, su

Migration of a transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt stent towards the pulmonary artery.

We present the case of a 73-year-old male, recipient of a liver transplant a year ago, with migration of a "Be-Graft" stent used in a pre-transplant transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt towards the pulmonary artery. The stent was incidentally discovered via imaging tests during hospitalization due to acute cholangitis.

Successful Retrieval of Migrated Coil Tangle in Femoral Artery Following Aneurysm Embolization: A Case Report.

BACKGROUND Stretching of embolization coils is a known complication of embolization procedures with potential outcomes including thrombosis, embolism, or vascular occlusion. This unpredictable event occurs in 0.5% to 6% of cases and can be asymptomatic or clinically significant, especially if associated with thrombosis. CASE REPORT We describe a case involving a stretched and unraveled embolization coil that migrated from its original placement site in the middle right cerebral artery to the common femoral artery. The coil formed a tangle and became symptomatic following cerebral artery aneury

Trismus caused by migration of orthodontic archwire into the infratemporal fossa: a case report.

INTRODUCTION: Soft tissue injuries are known complications of orthodontic treatment. Most of the injuries are mild, but severe complications can arise from deeper penetration or dislodgement of brackets and other foreign bodies into the surrounding tissues of the oropharynx and infratemporal fossa. PATIENT CONCERNS: The patient, accompanied by his parents, presented to the Children's Emergency Department with the concern of gradual limitation of mouth opening and eventual trismus, which occurred over a span of 2 weeks. CLINICAL FINDINGS: The patient presented with trismus and slight discomfo

Intra-pulmonary migration of a clavicle osteosynthesis pin: a case report.

BACKGROUND: Fractures of the clavicle are common injuries, which often require reduction and internal fixation. Although Kirschner pins have been commonly used to treat these fractures with good results, migration of these devices may result in severe internal lesions. CASE PRESENTATION: We report herein the case of 61-year-old man, who presented for intrapulmonary migration of a Kirschner pin, 25 years after closed reduction and fixation of a clavicle fracture. CONCLUSION: Migration of an osteosynthesis pin can be lethal. Patients with osteosynthesis pins, should have a regular follow, unti

Plastic biliary stent migration as a cause of ascending colon perforation.

A 65-year-old male with pancreatic cancer stage IV and history of endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) and plastic biliary stent placement 43 days earlier, arrived to the emergency department with 8-hour right upper quadrant pain, fever, and shivering. Contrast enhanced computed tomography showed migration of the biliary stent to the ascending colon, with signs of perforation on its antimesenteric edge. A surgical approach by laparotomy was decided. The biliary stent was found perforating the ascending colon and in contact with the abdominal wall. The stent contained the colon

Accidental migration of a dental implant into the nasal cavity.

The accidental migration (i.e., displacement) of dental implants into the maxillary sinus is a relatively common complication in dental clinical practice. Here, we report the extremely rare nasal cavity migration of a dental implant in a 23-year-old man. Considering the superficial location of the dental implant and the absence of oronasal fistula formation, we attempted to remove the implant via endoscopy, nasal bayonet forceps, curved hooks, and suction in an ambulatory surgery setting with the patient under local anesthesia. Importantly, we were able to extract the implant with only minor c

Posterior Internal Frontal Artery Vascularization of the Precentral Gyrus Responsible for Proximal Arm Movement: Insight from a Case of Coil Migration.

Our knowledge of the vascularization of the precentral gyrus by branches of the anterior cerebral artery (ACA) relies mainly on anatomical cadaveric dissection. A distal branch of the ACA known as the posterior internal frontal artery (PIFA) is thought to vascularize the precentral gyrus responsible for proximal arm movement; however, no clinical correlation has yet been reported to confirm this relation. In this manuscript, we report a case of coil migration in the PIFA, causing proximal arm weakness in a 58-year-old woman treated for aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage. The occurrence of clin

Unusual Cause of Trigeminal Neuralgia: First Report of Intracranial Migration of Spinal Cord Stimulator.

BACKGROUND: Spinal cord stimulation has been shown to be an effective treatment for some patients diagnosed with chronic pain and failed back syndrome. However, lead migration from the implantation site is a potential complication that may reduce treatment efficacy, produce unintended symptoms, and require invasive and costly surgical replacement or removal. CASE DESCRIPTION: A 71-year-old woman presented to the emergency department with diffuse headache and burning left-sided facial pain consistent with trigeminal neuralgia. She had a history of chronic regional pain syndrome that had been s

Intraoesophageal migration of Teflon pledgets used for hiatal hernia repair: a serious adverse event.

11 months following an elective paraoesophageal hernia repair, a female patient presents to the emergency department with severe dysphagia. A CT showed a distention of the distal oesophagus caused by a foreign body and dense material inside and outside the oesophagus wall. A gastroscopy confirmed the presence of a bezoar and secondary oesophagitis due to the intraoesophageal migration of Teflon pledgets. Even when used appropriately, only for the crus repair, the use of Teflon pledgets may result in fistulisation through the oesophagus. This complication suggests that the use of Teflon pledget

The Practice of 'Urethral Sounding' Complicated by Retained Magnetic Beads Within the Bladder and Urethra: Diagnosis and Review of Management.

BACKGROUND The emergency treatment of a retained foreign body within the urethra and bladder is an uncommon clinical scenario within adult urology. Beyond the medical field, the placement of an object/s into the urethra is known as 'urethral sounding' and encompasses a sexual practice performed to heighten arousal and pleasure. The medical literature highlights the morbidity associated with this practice, most commonly when the sounding device can no longer be retrieved by the participant. CASE REPORT A case report involving an 18-year-old male requiring endoscopic retrieval of 60 magnetic met

Motion Preservation at All Costs? Multilevel Hinge Nonunion, Plate Breakage, and Intradural Plate Migration After Cervical Laminoplasty: A Case Report and Literature Review.

BACKGROUND: Cervical laminoplasty is a motion-preserving procedure that addresses spinal cord compression and avoids postlaminectomy kyphosis associated with cervical laminectomy. The most common complications include C5 nerve palsy, axial neck pain, hinge nonunion, and premature closure. Plating is a relatively newer method of laminoplasty fixation that may provide greater stabilization postoperatively and reduce the risk of laminoplasty closure compared with less rigid (e.g., suture) fixation techniques. Although prior studies have reported low rates of laminar/lateral mass screw back out, p

Intramuscular Migration of Venous Catheter as a Rare Complication of Ventriculoatrial Shunt: Case Report and Literature Review.

The most common procedure to manage hydrocephalus is a ventriculoperitoneal shunt. Other alternatives include a ventriculoatrial (VA) shunt, ventriculopleural shunt, lumboperitoneal shunt, or ventriculocisternal shunt. The VA shunt is a relatively rare procedure for hydrocephalus. As reported, several complications of VA shunt include obstructions, malposition, shunt infections, endocarditis, heart failure, tricuspid regurgitation, intra-atrial thrombus, and pulmonary hypertension. In this case report and literature review, we discuss a rare case of intramuscular migration of a venous tube 1 y

Removal of a Contraceptive Implant From the Brachial Neurovascular Sheath.

Subdermal implantable devices are commonly used for long-acting contraception in the United States and Europe. Although relatively safe in nature, their implantation and removal may be associated with potential complications, some of which may require surgical intervention. Complications may include infection, incorrect implantation, migration, or difficulty with removal. Proximal migration has been reported; however, there are no reports of devices that have migrated within the brachial neurovascular sheath. This case report describes migration of an implantable contraceptive within the brach
