After rifampin and levofloxacin treatment for a Staphylococcus aureus bone infection, a pyogenic granuloma due to a newly described Cutibacterium species, C. namnetense developed on the tibia former external fixator. This rifampin resistant bacterium, selected during treatment, harbored a mutation in the rpoB gene. This case illustrates the possible in vivo selection of resistant mutant most likely due to the bacterial burden and therefore the importance of adequate bone infection treatment.

We report two cases of epitheloid hemangioma presented with multiple nodular lesions over head and neck region. One of them gave history of bleeding on minor trauma. Pyogenic granuloma was considered as a differential diagnosis from the morphological appearance and history of bleeding. Nodular leprosy, sarcoidosis, and secondary syphilis were also considered. Histopathological examination of both was typical of epitheloid hemangioma, an entity commonly overlooked clinically due to its rarity.

3 cases of cutaneous vegetant intravascular hemangioendothelioma are presented, 2 of them corresponded to a pure form, whilst the other arose in a pyogenic granuloma. All lesions behaved in a benign fashion. In some cases these may mimic an angiosarcoma (Masson's pseudoangiosarcoma). The endothelial proliferation, which characterizes the lesion, is considered as a reactive phenomenon secondary to fibrin deposits originating from the destruction of the vascular walls of a hemangioma.

Peripheral Ameloblastoma (PA) is a benign odontogenic tumor, arising from the cell rest of Serres, reduced enamel epithelium and basal cells of the surface epithelium. Peripheral ameloblastoma is a rare odontogenic neoplasm occurring commonly in the mandibular gingiva. PA clinically resembles other peripherally occurring lesions like pyogenic granuloma, peripheral ossifying fibroma, peripheral giant cell granuloma, and squamous papilloma. The recurrence rate of PA is 16-19% which demands a straight follow up. We report a case of recurrent peripheral ameloblastoma occurring in a 72-year old mal

Malignant neoplasms metastatic to the gingivae are rare. Our review of the literature revealed only eight acceptable examples. We are reporting two additional cases. One patient was a 58-year-old man with an adenocarcinoma of the lung which metastasized bilaterally to the maxillary gingiva. The second patient was a 27-year-old man with a synovial sarcoma which metastasized to multiple sites in the maxillary and mandibular gingiva. Clinically, gingival metastatic lesions are most often confused with hemangioma, pyogenic granuloma, giant-cell granuloma, and pepripheral fibroma. They usually occu

The principal aspects of the hyperplastic pathology which frequently appears during pregnancy and its epidemiological and clinical aspects are discussed. The existence of a particular kind of gingivitis, typical in pregnancy, not different from that appearing in not-pregnant women, let to hypothesize the existence of a relationship between the gingival lesion and the particular hormonal condition observed in pregnancy. Sometimes pregnancy gingivitis can show a tendency towards localized hyperplasia, this condition is defined pregnancy granuloma. Clinically a mass of variable size is observed;

INTRODUCTION: Inverted follicular keratosis (IFK) is a rare benign tumor arising from the follicular infundibulum, typically presenting as a solitary lesion on the head and neck of older adults. The actual incidence of inverted follicular keratosis is likely underreported due to frequent misdiagnosis as more common cutaneous lesions, including seborrheic keratosis, verruca vulgaris, or pyogenic granuloma.
CASE PRESENTATION: We reported a rare case of IFK in a 26-year-old male with a solitary, asymptomatic, pedunculated lesion on the scalp. The patient presented with a 0.7 cm-sized lesion demo

INTRODUCTION: Acquired capillary hemangioma of the conjunctiva is a rare benign vascular tumor, particularly in the pediatric population and when arising from the palpebral conjunctiva. Its clinical appearance often overlaps with reactive vascular lesions such as pyogenic granuloma, making accurate diagnosis challenging. Vernal keratoconjunctivitis (VKC) is a chronic allergic inflammatory disorder characterized by a pro-angiogenic microenvironment, which may contribute to vascular proliferation.
CASE PRESENTATION: An 8-year-old boy with a known history of VKC presented with a 1-year history o

INTRODUCTION: Virtual enteroscopy (VE) has been developed to explore the entire small bowel. We have previously reported that VE can reveal elevated lesions measuring >10 mm in diameter. However, data on the existence of smaller polypoid lesions is scarce. This study aimed to report a case of pyogenic granuloma in the ileum detected by VE.
PRESENTATION OF CASE: A 55-year-old woman presented to our hospital with iron deficiency anemia. Esophagogastroduodenoscopy, colonoscopy, and abdominal contrast-enhanced computed tomography did not indicate any bleeding sources. Video capsule endoscopy reve

Twenty nine cases of oral hemangiomas composed of capillary hemangioma, cavernous hemangioma and pyogenic granuloma were examined with lectin histochemistry using ulex europaeus agglutinin I, ricinus communis agglutinin I, wheat germ agglutinin, concanavalin A, dolichos biflorus agglutinin, soybean agglutinin and peanut agglutinin, and immunohistochemistry using anti von Willebrand factor antibody in order to understand the nature of each endothelial cell. The following results were obtained; 1. UEA-I that specifically bound alpha-L-fucose was observed mainly in the endothelial cells of capill

Acral angioosteoma cutis is a rare and benign cutaneous lesion clinically characterized by an exophytic growth resembling pyogenic granuloma on the acral skin; first described in 2006. Its pathogenesis is still unclear while well-formed capillaries, pale stroma, bland fibroblast-like cells, and multiple tiny spicules of woven bone constitute the histological hallmarks. Here, we present a case of acral angioosteoma cutis in a 34-year-old man to increase awareness regarding this rare condition.

Intravascular angiomatosis, also known as Massons' lesion, is a relatively uncommon, although important, tumor because it clinically mimics such benign lesions as mucocele, pyogenic granuloma, and hemangioma, as well as malignant neoplasms such as angiosarcoma and Kaposi's sarcoma. More important is the potential for misdiagnosis at the histological level that poses a significant problem to those unfamiliar with this lesion. This article reviews the literature on perioral intravascular angiomatosis and presents five additional cases.

Polypoid melanomas are unusual, as are amelanotic ones. Similarly, polypoid melanomas are not usually acral or amelanotic. They can be challenging to diagnose clinically, as they may resemble acral lentiginous nevus, polypoid Spitz nevus, eccrine poroma, schwannoma, pyogenic granuloma, verrucous carcinoma, fibrosarcoma, basal cell carcinoma, and pyoderma gangrenosum. We delineate a 64-year-old woman with an acral amelanotic polypoid melanoma on her sole. It was successfully removed surgically without limb amputation.

Phaeohyphomycosis comprises a spectrum of mycotic infectious diseases caused by heterogeneous group of phaeoid fungi. A subcutaneous cystic swelling with histological hallmark of pigmented hyphae in tissues accompanied by pyogenic granuloma is diagnostic of phaeohyphomycosis. We present two cases of phaeohyphomycosis in 65- and 55-year-old male agriculturalists, who presented with multiple, cystic soft-tissue masses involving extremities. Culture was done in one case and the specific organism was identified as Aureobasidium pullulans.

Cutaneous horns are uncommon in adults and rare in the pediatric population. Although verruca vulgaris, solar keratosis, and squamous cell carcinoma are more common entities that can present as cutaneous horns in the general population, conditions such as molluscum contagiosum, juvenile xanthgranuloma, and pyogenic granuloma have been reported causes in the pediatric population. We present a case of a perforating pilomatricoma presenting as a cutaneous horn in an 11 year old girl.

Peripheral ossifying fibroma (POF) is one of the inflammatory reactive hyperplasia of gingiva. It represents a separate clinical entity rather than a transitional form of pyogenic granuloma and shares unique clinical characteristics and diverse histopathological features. We present a case of POF in a 65-year-old male patient in the posterior maxillary gingiva, the clinical presentation of which differs from the usual presentation. Differential diagnosis and some interesting facts of POF are discussed.

The collective term histiocytoid hemangioma encompasses a spectrum of diseases that share a histologic features characterized by distinctive histiocytoid endothelial cells. Several incompletely defined cutaneous and extracutaneous vascular tumors, including atypical pyogenic granuloma, pseudopyogenic granuloma, papular angioplasia, angiolymphoid hyperplasia with eosinophilia, Kimura's disease, and inflammatory arteriovenous hemangioma, have been included in this group. We describe a 31-year-old Mexican-American man with multiple histiocytoid hemangiomas involving skin, subcutaneous tissue, and
