This study was undertaken to evaluate the effects of health education and anti-Clonorchis campaign conducted in Kyungpook Province and to compare the prevalence of Clonorchis sinensis among the residents in the same areas for the period 1964-1976. Immediate reactions against contact to raw potato has been reported in adults with generally being in the form of an oral contact dermatitis or contact urticaria, but it may also manifest as rhinitis symptoms, wheezing or even anaphylaxis. Cooked or raw potato allergy has been rarely reported in children as some is being immediate and others being late reactions, and it usually results from ingestion. Herein, we report two cases with a background of allergic diseases developed anaphylaxis one with cooked potato and the other one with raw potato.

Erythema multiforme (EM) as a complication of patch testing (PT) is rare. BACKGROUND: We report a case of sensitization to estrogen.
CASE REPORT: A 40-year-old woman consulted for skin disorders which followed a cyclic pattern. At each menses, the patient developed pruritus and erythematous papulovesicular lesions over the members and trunk. Estraderm patch contact dermatitis was evident. Prick and patch tests with alcoholic solutions of estrone alone were positive. Serum tests were positive for anti-ethinyl-estradiol antibodies and anti-progesterone antibodies.

VP 16-213 (etoposide, abbr. to VP), an oncostatic drug, and VP-protein conjugates were examined for their antigenic properties using male Hartley guinea pigs. The results of systemic anaphylaxis test, passive cutaneous anaphylaxis test, passive hemagglutination test and Schultz-Dale reaction revealed that VP possessed neither antigenic nor haptenic properties. The dose levels of VP employed in the present experiment were confirmed not to suppress immune reactions.

Bronchial sensitization against house dust mites (dermatophagoides farinae, dermatophagoides pteronyssinus) was investigated in 48 children. INTRODUCTION: Hypersensitivity reactions (HSRs) to colecalciferol (vitamin D) have been rarely reported and the mechanism is unknown. As an alternative treatment was not recommended for vitamin D deficiency, a desensitization protocol with colecalciferol can be performed. We found that there is no standard desensitization protocol for vitamin D. In this study, we aimed to investigate clinical features and skin test results of patients with HSRs to the vitamin D and effectiveness of the 6-step desensitization protocol in which we applied oral drops of colecalciferol.

We present 9 patients with contact urticaria due to rubber gloves. Others have reported an increasing incidence of the disease among females, patients with atopic dermatitis, and hospital personnel. Our data confirm these results. Scarification with water, in which the suspected glove was incubated, is a simple diagnostic method, both reliable and cheap, in order to test the solubility of the allergen(s) in water. In one of our patients, we proved a type-I allergy caused by tetramethyl thiuram disulfide.

Serodiagnostic tests have a significant role in the diagnosis of a number of fungal infections. The bases for these tests are reviewed and their sensitivity, specificity, and applications are discussed. Skin test antigens are also reviewed. Their diagnostic role is currently limited, but they have some utility as epidemiological tools.
