The authors report 4 cases of primary multinodular panniculitis. Acute retinal necrosis (ARN) is a syndrome of fulminant necrotizing vaso-occlusive retinitis associated with a high incidence of retinal detachment due to retinal breaks and vitreous traction. We performed argon or krypton laser photo-coagulation to demarcate areas of active retinitis as prophylaxis against retinal detachment in five patients with ARN. This review attempts to put into perspective their similarities and differences in light of historical, biochemical, pathologic, and etiologic considerations. Thirteen patients with radiation necrosis and 6 patients with occlusive radiation-induced cerebrovasculopathy were reviewed. Computed tomography (CT) demonstrated low attenuation with a mass effect and irregular contrast enhancement in the radiation necrosis. Coumarin necrosis, a rare complication of coumarin anticoagulation, typically presents with well-defined purpuric patches that progress to bullae formation and necrosis. The vast majority of those affected are women, and most commonly affected sites are the breasts, buttocks, thighs, and abdomen. We present a male patient who manifested a unique reticulated purpura that progressed to bullae formation on the toes of one foot in addition to more classic lesions on the thigh and calf.

A discrete pattern of autofluorescence of the cerebral cortex of ruminants suffering from cerebrocortical necrosis is seen under ultraviolet light. This offers a rapid and relatively simple aid to diagnosis of the disease. There is a clear correlation of the characteristic fluorescence with biochemical evidence of cerebrocortical necrosis in field material.

Pyoderma gangrenosum is a destructive cutaneous disorder characterized by painful, rapidly enlarging ulcers with under-mined bluish and purplish red margins. This disease is most frequently found in association with ulcerative colitis. However, in the last three years, four cases of pyoderma gangrenosum precipitated by surgical procedures have occurred, and only one of these patients had ulcerative colitis. Selective necrosis of rat testicles is known to be produced by cadmium in subtoxic doses due to impairment of vessel structures. Classical antihistaminics in the same time in order to exclude that the lesion might have been produced by local release of histamine. Antihistaminics did not prevent necrosis. Instead, Clemastine stressed an interstitial testicular haemorrhage a bit. Methyldosulepine administered with calcium could decrease the vascular permeability because haemorrhage was almost lacking. The finding supports an idea of possible interaction between calcium and cadmium ions.
