AIM OF THE STUDY: To present the authors' experience concerning the removal of dental implants displaced in the maxillary sinus via an intraoral approach consisting of the creation of a bony window pedicled to the maxillary sinus membrane.
MATERIALS AND METHODS: Thirty-six systemically healthy patients, presenting with oral implants displaced into the maxillary sinus, but with no signs of acute or chronic sinusitis, were consecutively treated between 2002 and 2012 via an intraoral approach with the bony window technique.

OBJECTIVES: To assess the stability of soft tissues around implants by comparing mucosal recessions in patients with keratinized mucosa (test) with patients without keratinized mucosa (control) around osseointegrated dental implants.

In seventeen patients presenting funnel chest a subcutaneous implantation of silicone prostheses was performed. In nine patients seromas were aspirated postoperatively. Five patients were reoperated, one for correction of a displacement of the prosthesis, one for size reduction and one for implant removal, because of various complaints not related to the prosthesis. At the final evaluation sixteen out of seventeen patients expressed satisfaction with the result.

Postoperative infection is one of the most serious complications in orthopedic surgery. The purpose of this study was to review the University of Florida's long-term results with Bioglass middle ear prostheses. Between April 1984 and November 1987, 37 patients were implanted with Bioglass prostheses (25 total and 12 partial ossicular replacements). Our retrospective study aimed to evaluate functional and radiological results of a unicentric series of 17 total wrist prostheses implanted between 2001 and 2011. Nine women and seven men, mean age 59, underwent wrist joint arthroplasty, bilateral in one case.
