OBJECTIVE: To determine the single-dose pharmacokinetics of 60 mg NWP06, a novel extended-release (ER) liquid formulation of methylphenidate (MPH) compared with 30 mg immediate-release (IR) liquid MPH, dosed at Hours 0 and 6, in adults.
METHODS: After institutional review board approval, 30 healthy subjects aged 18 to 68 years were enrolled in this open-label, crossover study and randomly assigned to receive NWP06/IR MPH after an overnight fast. OBJECTIVE: To evaluate in detail the morphology of cervical cell samples suspended in the coagulant fixative BoonFix (Finetec, Tokyo, Japan) in liquid-based Papspin slides (Thermo Shandon, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, U.S.A) to detect shifts in diagnostic parameters for infections and neoplasia.
STUDY DESIGN: Split samples of 1,010 cases were collected. All Papspin slides were scanned with neural network technology. In 849 cases the diagnosis was "within normal limits"; in 22 cases it was preneoplasia. In 151 special cases conventional smears were compared with thin-layer slides.

PURPOSE: Many surgical options exist to enhance bladder neck closing pressure in women. Most procedures are relatively large with a success rate of between 70% and 90%. About 2% of all bladder calculi occur in women. Their presence necessitates a careful assessment of the cause. Most bladder calculi secondary to female pelvic surgery result from either obstruction or foreign objects. The presence of nonabsorbable suture material in the bladder is a well-known cause of urinary tract infection and stone formation. We present the sonographic findings in a case of a bladder stone forming around nonabsorbable sutures after a Marshall-Marchetti-Krantz operation for stress urinary incontinence.

We report our experience with two cases of late migration of the suture and bolster occurring 2 years after a modified Stamey endoscopic bladder neck suspension. Delayed migration of the suture and bolster after an endoscopic bladder neck suspension across tissue planes, with subsequent erosion into the bladder, is uncommon. Recurrent urinary tract infection and mild suprapubic discomfort were the only symptoms.
