With the development of surgical technology, indocyanine green (ICG) fluorescence navigation systems may be useful in various areas of colorectal surgery, including tumor location confirmation, bowel perfusion, ureter identification, and lymph node mapping. This review provides an overview of the current status of ICG-based navigation surgery in colorectal surgery, emphasizing its role in lymphatic flow mapping. This state-of-the-art approach will allow for appropriate oncological surgeries in the field of colorectal cancer and improve the patient's prognosis.

The theory of membrane anatomy has been widely used in the field of colorectal surgery. The key point to perform high quality total mesorectal excision (TME) and complete mesocolic excision (CME) is to identify the correct anatomical plane. Intraoperative identification of the various fasciae and fascial spaces is the key to accessing the correct surgical plane and surgical success. The landmark vessels refer to the small vessels that originate from the original peritoneum on the surface of the abdominal viscera during embryonic development and are produced by the fusion of the fascial space.

Meckel's diverticulum is an uncommon though well described clinical entity. There are few cases of a Meckel's diverticulum having been identified as the lead point for adult intussusception. To evaluate the effectiveness of 4-hand reduction for obturator hernia with the guidance of sonography (FROGS) as a new treatment strategy for obturator hernia. Since November 2019, FROGS was performed for all patients with obturator hernia at our emergency department. A 2.5-kg castrated male Maltese dog, suspected to be older than 10 y, was presented with a prolapsed mass at the anus.
