Decorin is a small extracellular chondroitin/dermatan sulfate proteoglycan that has previously been shown to be involved in the angiogenesis-like behavior of endothelial cells (ECs) in vitro. Treating laryngopharyngeal reflux is the most accepted treatment for laryngeal granulomas. However, response to this treatment is prolonged and in some cases persistent. The morphology of 645 cases of brucellosis in hares evoked by the germs of Brucella suis, biotype 2, is described. Brucellosis had the character of chronic granulomatous process with prevailing changes in liver, spleen and in sex organs of hares of both sexes. Masson's vegetant intravascular haemangioendothelioma is a rare, benign, intravascular tumour. It is often associated with a pre-existing vascular process such as a pyogenic granuloma or a haemangioma. The clinical diagnosis is usually that of a vascular lesion or of a cyst. This is the first report of such a lesion presenting in a large neck vein. It is important to recognize the existence of this tumour as it is invariably benign, and local excision is curative.

Adult capillary haemangiomas of the eyelid are rare, with only a few cases reported in the literature. We report the case of a late adolescent girl with an acquired capillary haemangioma of the right upper eyelid preseptal region. The differential diagnoses considered were folliculitis and pyogenic granuloma, but the histopathological examination confirmed the diagnosis of capillary haemangioma. At the end of 10 months, the patient has not yet reported any recurrence and has no cosmetic complaints.

Continuous subcutaneous insulin infusion (CSII), or insulin pumps, with or without continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) devices have become the standard of care for patients with type 1 diabetes. While increasingly popular, a wide range of reported skin reactions to CSII and CGM devices was found. We present this case of a pyogenic granuloma-like neutrophilic and granulomatous response to an insulin pump to increase awareness of a previously uncharacterized cutaneous adverse reaction at insulin pump infusion sites.

In the course of routine pathologic examination of an ovarian serous cystadenoma excised from a 35-year-old woman, an intravascular mass in the cyst capsule was noted. Histologically, this was found to be an intravenous capillary hemangioma. To our knowledge, no such lesion has been previously reported. The relationship of this lesion to intravenous pyogenic granuloma and features by which the two may be distinguished are discussed. Other primary intravascular endothelial tumors are briefly reviewed.

BACKGROUND: In Indian subcontinent where tuberculosis is endemic, the spinal infection was thought to be due to mycobacterium tuberculosis in most of the cases. Hence there is a practice of treating these patients with empirical antitubercular treatment. However, recent guidelines advice biopsy and tissue diagnosis before starting antibiotics.
OBJECTIVE OF STUDY: Our retrospective study analyses the role of biopsy in establishing the microbiological diagnosis and thus identifying the incidence of pyogenic and tubercular spondylodiscitis presented to a tertiary care centre.

INTRODUCTION: Intramuscular lipoma are benign mesenchymal soft tissue neoplasm of mature adipocytes that arises within the muscle. Oral intramuscular lipoma are more commonly seen on tongue. A 10-month-old girl presented with a 4-month history of a rapidly growing lesion on the lower lip. Initial assessment and Doppler ultrasound supported a diagnosis of pyogenic granuloma. However, emergent biopsy revealed an embryonal rhabdomyosarcoma, a highly malignant tumor commonly associated with cancer-susceptible syndromes including neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1). Despite having no apparent clinical features of NF1 at initial presentation, she was later found to have multiple café-au-lait spots and a subsequent diagnosis of NF1 was made.

Lobular capillary haemangioma (LCH), previously known as pyogenic granuloma, is a benign vascular lesion commonly found within the oral and nasal cavity. However, it is rarely encountered within the trachea, where presenting features include recurrent haemoptysis, cough, and wheeze. We here describe a case of a 7 mm tracheal LCH in a 56-year-old woman, which was successfully resected at interventional bronchoscopy using biopsy forceps. Clinicians should be aware of tracheal LCH in the differential diagnosis for recurrent haemoptysis.

The manifestation of metastatic malignant disease in the oral cavity can present in a number of ways and may mimic benign conditions. This case reports a rare presentation from a metastasis of a hepatocellular carcinoma that had invaded the attached gingiva of the maxilla and which on initial inspection could have been misdiagnosed as a pyogenic granuloma. With the advent of new classes of drugs to manage this disease it could be expected that this presentation may become more common.
