Hidradenitis suppurativa (HS) is a chronic, debilitating skin disease characterized by painful recurrent nodules and abscesses. In advanced stages, sinus tracts form, with resulting fibrotic and cribriform scar formation, leading to dermal contractures and induration of the affected skin. Ankyloglossia or tongue-tie is the result of a short and tight lingual frenum causing difficulty in speech, feeding problems in infants due to the limitation of tongue movement. This report presents a case of a 22-year-old female with tongue-tie who complained of difficulty in speech following which she underwent frenectomy procedure with erbium, chromium: yattrium-scandium-gallium-garnet laser without any complications. Tuberous sclerosis complex is an autosomal dominant disorder that can cause nonmalignant hamartomas in any organ. Angiofibromas are the most disturbing marker of the disease because they are conspicuously present on the face. PURPOSE OF REVIEW: Organ preservation strategies are a major focus of interest in head and neck cancer. There are two ways to preserve the function in the treatment of squamous cell carcinomas of the hypopharynx: organ-sparing surgery or neoadjuvant or concomitant chemoradiotherapy. From the surgical point of view, the possibilities of organ sparing have been increased with the use of transoral carbon dioxide laser surgery.
